IN THE CLOSET...
I heard 3 little boys shouting, "mom! mom! come find us!" So I went on the hunt for my little guys and I found them hiding in the closet with the lights off and the flashlight on - they make me smile :)

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY LAST WEEK!
Last week there were several small things that made me happy so I thought I would write them down.
Tyson's tooth fell out again! Dr Parry fixed it, again! If it falls out again, we will probably have to get a baby crown - yippee! poor guy.
One morning Eli came up to me and asked me for a white robot. I had no idea what he was talking about so I said, "where is it?" thinking it must be some toy we had in the house somewhere, well he was quick to tell me, "on Santa's sleigh!" I sure hope Santa can find him a white robot :)
OK, so when my kids (and Jared) aren't paying attention to me and I am trying to tell them something important, I say, "look in my eyes" and then I know they are paying attention to me because they are looking at me instead of staring at the TV or something else. So the other day Eli was trying to say something to Tyler and Tyler was ignoring him so I heard him say, "Tyler, look in my eyes, look in my eyes!"
My sister-in-law gave me a Brazilian Blowout. My hair is now perfectly straight and not fluffy and its even soft too! I love it!!
My dad took all my boys to the aquarium most of the day and then brought them back home and put them to bed so that I was able to hang out with Caryn all day long and help her shop for baby things. It was really fun to hang out with her and go to lunch and not have my kids with me. (I love them, but I cant remember the last time I hung out with her without them.)
Jared, my dad and me went on Saturday and cleaned out my grandma's apartment. It was a bittersweet moment. It was sad to take all of that stuff and donate it, knowing she had it forever (yes, she is still alive but is 99 yrs old and is now living in an assisted living place) and would never use it again. It was fun though to see certain things and say, I remember playing with this lamp and touching it to turn it on when my parents weren't looking, sitting at this table for meals, eating a chocolate donut on this plate for breakfast, or packing up the golf clubs and remembering when we would go to their country club to go swimming and hang out or watching that clock all night long as I would lay out in the family room and fall asleep. Sweet memories.
Lastly, I went to a funeral on Friday for a friend whose twin boys were born to early and didn't make it. It broke my heart trying to imagine the heart ache that her family was/is going through. But, it made me happy and brought some peace to me knowing that they had passed away within a day of each other and knowing they were laying in the same coffin together side by side with their heads facing each other. Twins share a unique bond with each other that can't be explained. It is something you have to see for yourself. They take care of each other, they need each other, they love each other like no one else can. I am glad that these boys have each other up in Heaven and can take care of each other there the way my boys take care of each other down here on earth. I am grateful for that knowledge that I have.

SOCCER TIME!
Eli had his first soccer game last Saturday and we were so excited about it! The day started out great for him - we were outside doing yard work and our little buddy wanted to join us so he went and put on his tennis shoes all by himself (OK so they were Velcro vans and they were on the wrong foot - but he took the initiative to do it) and we couldn't have been more proud of him. We loaded up all the kids and headed out for the soccer game.
We got there, set up all of our chairs, ice chest, 2 shade umbrellas and began snacking. Finally the game was going to start and the coach started with Eli playing. After about 2 minutes of running around and not touching the ball, he was tired and hot and walked off the field and came and hung out with us.
We think he is having a hard time realizing that you have to take the ball from the other team and that they aren't going to just pass it to you and that you have a designated net for your goal. So, after he cooled down we knew we had to get him back out there. Coach Danny McBurney was kind enough to let him go back out and even let me go out there and run up and down the field with him explaining to him what to do. I would follow him around and tell him to take the ball, kick the ball, run faster, etc. He started to get the hang of it pretty quickly.
By the end of the game he was having so much fun! We all kept telling him how great he did and how good he was and for the rest of the day he would come up to us and smile and say, "I good at soccer!" Yes, yes you are little buddy!!

SHOW LOW!
Jared and some of his brothers and some of their sons took the weekend off and headed up to Show Low. Eli had been looking forward to it all week. He kept referring to it as going "camping" and as soon as they got in the car to head out he kept asking to go to McDonald's so he could get chicken nuggets, chocolate milk, fries and a Shrek toy (that's what they did last time and he wanted the exact same thing all over again).
Pictures in random order:
Eli chillin' out to Dora
Emma made the boys a welcome home sign out of Legos for them
Eli very happy out to dinner with his mac and cheese
A personal favorite of my 4 boys....wrestling....

Lake Show Low or a lake in Show Low whatever it is...

My personal favorite yet very inappropriate....
Playing at a park
Jared was very proud of this picture. He made sure to point out to me that he didn't even get mad when Eli played in the dirt like this - normally Jared would not have let this happen - see how relaxed he was :)
Jared's favorite, nap time
and the last of my favorite pics...

I did not go on the trip so I can't report a whole lot about it but both my boys came home happy as can be and really enjoyed the very relaxing trip!
ps - Uncle Bryant did go as well we just don't have a picture of him - but we still like him :)

A PROMISE FULFILLED!
When the end of 2nd grade started approaching Emma new that dance try-outs would be right around the corner. She really wanted to make the competitive team, but to do that she had to have her splits all the way down. She kept talking to me about making the other team and I kept reminding her that she had to have her splits down and she wouldn't get them down if she didn't practice. The time was drawing closer and she still didn't have them down so we promised her if she had her splits down by the time try-outs came around we would let her have a Camp Rock 2 movie party with her friends when the movie came out.
Now, fast forward 4 months later...It was time to fulfill our end of the promise. We bought a Camp Rock party pack filled with VIP lanyard invitations, tablecloth, plates, cups, etc, borrowed a popcorn machine, picked up a few pizzas, chips, drinks, etc and had ourselves a great little party! It was quite well timed with Eli and Jared being gone together so they weren't around to bother the girls and me and the twins just hung out in my room playing with Lego's all night. The girls giggled loudly all night long and I got to sit and stare at my boys cute little faces all night - it was a win win for everyone.

GIRLS WEEKEND!
Heather came up with a great idea...let's go to San Diego to celebrate Dabrielle's birthday! You don't have to ask me twice :)
We left Friday night when all of our husbands came home from work and pulled into the condo at about 1am Saturday morning. We stayed up and talked for a while and I believe fell asleep about 4am. We got up in the morning and went running along the beach - I am gonna have to say, it was not nearly as fun as I thought it would be - way to hot without a breeze but that's ok - we did 5 miles and then headed off to breakfast/lunch. Afterwards it was pedicure time.
After that we headed over to Seaport Village to do a little shopping and taffy candy eating. (this is a picture of a man who stacks rocks on top of each other by balancing them - no glue, sticks, nothing.)
After we got back to the condo we decided to go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant in Old Town. We loved taking our time getting ready, doing each other's makeup (ok so really Heather did everyone's), each other's hair (thanks Denise) and slowly made our way out - seriously that was one of my favorite parts of the weekend - no time table for anything!!
(for the record, for those who know Eli best...the girl on the right is Heather, aka Mrs. Thomas - Eli's sunbeam teacher, he is in love with her and her lips and requests a kiss on the cheek every Sunday! The girl on the left is Dabrielle or Bells as Emma likes to call her to be like Maddy)
Sunday was another fantastic day. We decided to go to an outdoor shopping area and walk around for a bit before heading over to grab some delicious mexican food at a little dive along the beach.
Denise and Stephanie found a new friend!
We found an antique shop with heads from dolls removed and attached to many random different things - sorta like Sid from Toy Story would do. I even found an old pot with a headless doll body shoved inside.
After lunch we hit the beach for a few relaxing hours. I could lay on the beach all day long - love it!
It was all going great until Stephanie got stung by a bee. She didn't even make a peep - no screaming or anything! (the picture is way blurry but the bee sting was swollen for a little while)
That night we picked up food and ate it at the condo and then afterwards Heather spoiled us and did our eyebrows and dermaplaning. We also played games for a while to and since this is my blog - I will say that I am the winner!
Heather surprised us and showed us her love for great looking hats on this trip!
Sadly the last day came way to fast. We got up and ran 8 miles and this time it was amazing. The weather was perfect and Denise kicked our trash like usual. After cleaning up and packing up we headed over to Coronado Island to go eat lunch at Hotel Del Coronado. Loved it! Eating outside watching the ocean, enjoying great company and the food was pretty dang good too!
I loved getting away for the weekend and spending so much time with my good girlfriends. They are all some amazing girls! Happy Birthday Dabrielle!
The only thing good about coming home was knowing my family was there waiting for me (20 minutes after I got home they showed up)! Jared sent me this pic while I was gone - how can you not be excited to go home to this!
