FINALLY!! MY HOUSE IS RE-DONE!

Since 2010 (yes, I blogged about it) I have wanted certain things done to my house - finally in 2014 we got those things done! It was a pain a super annoying, but totally worth it in the end. I hated the clutter all the time, the constant dust, putting things up, taking things down, etc - but now that it is all said and done - we couldn't be happier! We doubled the size of our pantry (yes! no more food in my closet, added a back splash, changed the color of the house, got bigger baseboards, added a ton of wood working in dining room, framed all my kitchen windows and entry windows, had my cupboards re-done, added lights to the kitchen and family room, framed my columns, got new furniture and cased in all my pop-outs!

I told Jared to help me tape the stripes - I told him it would only take like 15 minutes - oops - 2 hours later we were done taping and 3 hours later and 3 trips to Home Depot and wha-la!

I wanted a piece of furniture that popped in the piano room - so I found this and Deb Dorcheus helped me Annie Sloan it - after that I became slightly addicted to it and have Annie Sloaned way to many things in my house :)

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

This was a big year for us - It was Emma's last year in elementary school, the last year I will have kindergartners and Eli started a new school - we survived and thrived quite nicely!

The twins started off red on their dibels test and ended the year green - I have never seen kids grow so much in one year as I saw the twins grow! It brought many tears to our eyes to watch these boys learn so much and catch up!

Mrs Birch will always hold a special place in our hearts - she was a gift from Heaven for these boys. She wanted them the first time she met them 6 months before school started when she saw them with their mohawks and superman shirts on. When we said our last good-byes she cried - we love her and she loved them!
Tyson's drawing for the class book and his page he wrote...
I love Kindergarten because Mrs Birch taught me how to read "Put me in the zoo"

 Tyler's drawing and page...

I like kindergarten because I get to play with my friends and I get to play soccer with my friends.

Kindergarten program - well behaved boys..
Tyler yawning and Tyson playing (but we don't care about that - what we care about is that Tyler actually stood up there in front of an audience and sang and did the actions! what what?!)
Each child presented Mrs Birch with a thank you card and a sunflower because sun flowers follow the sun where ever it goes just like these kids follow her
Eli received several awards - music award, student of the month, Mr Congeniality, and he was one of the top readers in his class! First grade was his year - we attribute that to his amazing teacher he had has well. Mrs. Nelson always praised him and made him the class leader and he rose to the occasion - such a great kid - he deserved all of it too!
First grade program - what a ham!
Emma had a great year - it was her first year in CATS - we finally let her do it - she had such little homework and little stress - we were regretting we never did it sooner - oops - oh well! She loved her teacher Mrs. Frank - It was sad to think she is all done with the innocence of elementary school..tear
Emma used the same Gap pink and brown cheetah backpack that her and Abby Fa'anunu got together to start kindergarten all the way through 6th grade - it held up the entire time! I told her when she finished elementary school - she could burn it. That night - Maddie stayed the night and they had a back pack bon fire!
I like to end the year off with some welcome home signs to the future next grade they are entering...

TWINS TURN 6!!

How have these little guys turned 6 already?!
Richelle gave Jake a lego birthday party for his 7th birthday and was kinda enough to pass down her stuff to me - so we took that theme and ran with it - especially since the boys LOVE legos!

Plates
 the set-up
the birthday lego banner
the invitations we delivered written on legos...

"guess how many legos" "lego bingo"

The guests eating their pizza, chips and drinks with colored lego men ice in them...
(Tyler, Anson, Mikey, Dreson, Nash, Payton)
 (Tyson & Chiara)
After we ate we played pin the head on the lego man - the more the kids messed up the harder they laughed - the biggest loser was the biggest winner amongst themselves - funny kids!

I kept racking my brain on how I was going to tie in a lego toy with a goodie bag and what else I could do to entertain these guys...one Saturday afternoon Emma and I spent an hour and a half at the Lego store having the worker build a car for us and then we got all the pieces for it to create 9 other cars and try to make them slighty different with different pieces and colors. So glad I did - this was everyone's favorite part! They loved building it and then one of them asked if they got to keep the car and when I told him yes - his reply "this is the best party ever!"
After we finished building the cars we raced the cars - they would have done this forever, but we had 10 minutes left when I realized we hadn't done cake or presents yet - yikes!
We quickly sang Happy Birthday and gave everyone cake and ice cream - and then as kids got picked up we opened their presents - and they left with bags full of lego candies and their new lego cars -

Tyson's blue cake -

Tyler's orange cake - each boy picked the color they wanted -

They spent the next couple of hours playing with all their new toys and then Payton and Chiara had given them new swim trunks and flip flops so we went over to RJ's house to break them in :)

After Emma was done with dance, we picked her up and all went out for dinner and dessert. The boys had such a great day! They bring so much happiness to our family and never leave us bored or quiet around the house. As much as they are crazy and rambunctious - they are also very kind, loving to each other and sensitive and even stone cold Tyler will break down into tears if he has hurt someone feelings. They love their sister and are very supportive of her dancing and all the time they have to spend at the studio. In the last 2 weeks I have received random compliments from people about the boys and how sweet, kind and mannerly they are - hopefully that lasts them a lifetime. We love these 2 fart faces to death!
ps - My one regret for you birthday boys - was that I forgot to take in birthday treats for your summer birthdays to school - I remembered to do it in April, but by the time the end of the year came - I spaced it - I truly am sorry you didn't get birthday cupcakes in your kindergarten classroom.
