END OF SCHOOL WRAP UP!

Since I am a horrible mother and I am playing blog catch up - here is a bunch of random last month of school pictures I have that I didn't blog about.

For field day I made each of the kids class signs for them, it was kinda fun, mixed it up a bit besides just photo copying papers or helping out like that - Eli and Emma loved it - bless their hearts!

Emma is front and center -

 Eli is front row left side - of course with one of his Chandler Heat baseball hats on, he tried wearing that to school every day!

Eli finally went on his first field trip - the one and only one for the whole year - kind of a bummer - and I won't tell him, but it was the world's lamest field trip. We rode 45 minutes on a bus to see a 30 minutes puppet show of the 3 little pigs and then took the bus back for another 45 minutes, stopped at Tumbleweed park and ate lunch and played and then back to school it was...lame. But, he loved it and I was very grateful to be able to go with him!

 Jared got to do his first "Donuts with Dad" this year too. The dads came and made a small group of kids who didn't have dads there with them and they made bridges out of sticks to see whose could hold the most weight. Poor Jared was trying to get all fancy pants with his and took forever to build this masterpiece, while all the other dads just basically stacked theirs up on top of each other and stole Jared's sticks...I am pretty sure they lost for the most weight held, but won for coolest looking bridge :) Either way, hanging out together and eating donuts at school is awesome!

On the last day of school Emma and Eli both got picked for the "Triple R" award - neither of them knew they were getting it so we surprised them by showing up to the assembly to watch them - they were both shocked, it was fun to see their faces when their names were called off. Thanks Grandma Rodgers for coming and watching with us! 

 

 This was a sad day, it was the last day Emma and Maddie will ride a bus together. Eli really enjoyed having her on the bus too, she would always take care of him when Emma wasn't there and make sure he came to her house until I got there - we loved our second sister!

Stephanie and I took the twins to play at the San Tan splash pad to celebrate their last official day at home alone while the other are in school. It was bittersweet to say the least. After words, we picked up lunch for them. These kids are gonna miss hanging out together! 

Jared was sad he couldn't make it to their assemblies so he decided we needed to reward them for their good efforts in school and we all went out to Blue 32 for dinner that night and then picked up DQ for dessert! 

Eli is sad to be leaving Ryan - he says he is going to miss his friends....lucky for him, everyone loves him so he will have no trouble making new ones! Good bye 5th grade and kindergarten, Hello 1st grade and 6th grade - where is the time going?!

RECITAL!

Dear Emma,

I just want you to know that I do not love you any less now than I did in 2008. I apologize for the fact that my picture taking skills at dance things suck these days. I guess that is what happens WHEN YOU DANCE ALL THE FREAKING TIME :)

You did fantastic this year, like always. My favorite show was the 7pm show because you danced in 12 different dances.

You did have people come out to support you so I am sorry I didn't take a picture of you with them. Grandma and Grandpa Rodgers, Aunt Caryn, Aunt Jenn and Brylee, Grandma Jensen, Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jensen.

3 shows in one day, I don't know how you crazy girls manage to do it all, You girls amaze us parents! Dad and I got pooped just working the costume changes and the props, sheesh!

ANOTHER BASEBALL SEASON DOWN!

So the season may have ended a month ago, but I was a teeny bit busy and haven't blogged until now. Chandler Heat Club teams did great again this season. There was a black team (the oldest boys), the grey team (the middle boys) and the red team (the young boys). Eli was placed on the red team and still was one of the youngest kids on the team, but I guess that's what happens when you play up in sports. They did pretty good - this was our first season that we had some losses, but if we take a step back and look, we really did do well. We lost half our games, but the team was 2 years younger than all the other teams we played against because our boys are better than the kids their ages so we played them up to an older division, so they hung pretty well for being so young - job well done!

The season started off with a parade and every one who played in the championship game last year got to wear a balloon to let others know they were the winners and then they marched down the parade route and had a banner made from their sponsors which we had hanging at every game. Go Heat!



At the end of the parade, CYB did some announcements and kicked off the start of the new season, including calling the championship winners up to the stage so they could be seen by everyone!

Eli had himself a pretty good season. For the first time ever he hit 2 triples in the same game!! It was seriously amazing!!!

I love watching my kids play any sports they are involved in, but for the first time, baseball got really exciting to me now that they are getting older and the plays are getting better. We are so grateful for the opportunity Eli has had to be with Coach Matt Jones and to have been able to work with all these great coaches and grow so much in this sport. Nothing made Eli more excited then getting into the car at the end of the game and asking us to tell him what he did good and then waiting for us to give him 3 "hip hip horays!" - Love me some Eli!

COSTCO CRIME FIGHTERS!

In 4 weeks my Costco trips will never be the same...I will no longer have these boys and their superhero toys to shop with me...who will help me fight crime inside the store now?!

SAN DIEGO BEACH HOUSE!

Well since I am technically writing this June 23, 2014 - it is going to be a sad post about an amazing week - so amazing that the twins drew a picture about it in kindergarten and all 3 boys have written down that's where they want to live and have just referred to it multiple times since - like this morning for example. It was a fantastic trip and everything I hoped it would be. I loved spending the week on the beach with my family. We all took a day to cook dinner and clean up - Jared and I chose the twins birthday and decided to just buy Phil's BBQ there and treat everyone to the deliciousness of it! We all had our own rooms. We were so much right on the beach that sometimes the kids would just go out there by themselves and play and we would watch them from the big window. Hopefully mom and dad will rent it again so we can do it all over! Here are way to many pictures....

We arrived on Saturday, June 8th - so after we got all settled in and made a huge trip to Costco for everyone - we waited for everyone to finish arriving and then Jared and I left the kids with my parents so we could go out and celebrate our anniversary. We ended up in La Jolla eating at a fun little mexican restaurant, shopped at Lulu and then walked around and ate some dessert!

The next day was Sunday and we spent the day at the Mormon Battalion Museum and then we visited the San Diego Temple. The kids loved the museum - it was way more impressive than I thought it would be!

After we all made our way back to the beach house we hung around the rest of the day playing games and eating food. 

 
That night we went out on a grunion run hunt - we were not successful :(
 
Monday was Ashley's birthday - her and Blake went and spent the day together - the rest of us were beach bums. I ran in the morning and then we just chilled by the ocean and had a relaxing day.

Eli made me a beautiful bracelet out of sea weed and a shell - it was actually quite impressive - it broke - but it was awesome while it lasted :)

Boogie boarding became quite popular throughout the week and we ended up going to costco and buying more so more people could use them at the same time -there may have been a neighbor who stole ours, but Jared and Blake walked out to the beach and took them right back - muhahaha!

That night after dinner we took the Jensens and whoever else wanted to join us on our traditional Monday night stop at Sea Port Village for walking around and taffy! We ran into this sword swallowing guy and kids sat and watched him for quite a while...

Tuesday was the twins birthday - so we just hung out at the beach some more and let them kinda do whatever they wanted and had Phil's BBQ, dessert and opened presents! 
 
 
 I watched people play sand volleyball out the big window every day - finally we went down there and joined in some game and then the kids played around us while we played...

For the twins birthday we also gave them tickets to Legoland (I did a separate post for that), but while we were at Legoland - grandma and grandpa took Emma and Eli to Belmont Park and bought them passes so they could ride all day long, then they got ice cream on the pier and were spoiled of course!
