SAS decided this year for Nationals instead of going to Las Vegas, we would do Celebrity Nationals which meant it would be on a cruise ship. At first it was going to just be me and Emma and then the more we thought about it, I would be so sad missing all the boys and not letting them experience this with us so they needed to come. Luckily I had taken a random side job at Hamilton High School and worked as a cashier in the school bakery during lunch so that paid for the whole trip! When we sat down to tell the boys all about it, we watched a video about our ship and they were super pumped, although randomly throughout the next few months they would ask about falling off the ship and sharks eating them - but other than that - nothing but excitement!
Emma and I headed out with Stacia and Liz to California a couple of days early because the girls all had to compete on land first. Then Jared, Jon and the boys drove out to meet us on Saturday, which was the day before we got on the ship. California was a good time....
After competing we spent the day at the beach and then dinner and then took a selfie of how many people we crammed onto our elevator...
Sunday morning we got up and headed down to the hotel lobby at our appointed time after Stacia and I ran and got breakfast for our families. The boys used their patience so well waiting anxiously for our turn to board the bus...only to get to the cruise ship and wait forever to board the ship - good job fellas!
As soon as we started to walk onto the ship and take this picture -mind you we haven't even stepped foot on the actual boat yet - the boys were already asking to take another cruise!
Haven't even made it to our room yet and we already ditched the kids! ha ha!
I have to say, everything about the cruise was perfect except for one thing - the weather!! Overcast and chilly - I was planning on baking all week long, but sadly, I think I actually got whiter on the ship - even the twins would take breaks and bundle up together! The boys would play on the water slides and kid areas, hot tubs all day long!
Our first stop was Catalina Island. We all got off and the older kids were going to ride Segways and the rest of us were going to rent a golf cart and cruise around the island!
But alas, the Segway tours were all booked up so we ended up running into these hooligans on the island riding around in golf carts themselves!
Dress up night! We opted to ditch the boys because they didn't want to get dressed up for a fancy dinner anyways and we checked them into the kidz camp there and they had a blast. They won ship trophies, colored shirts, watched movies and played games!
Every morning after breakfast the boys liked to head to the very top of the ship for mini golfing!
You could often find Jensen boys in the hot tubs!
Emma and Rylin opted to always order room service!
At night some times the boys would hang out in the room with Grady, watching movies, ordering hot chocolates from room service and hanging out. We would usually find ourselves sitting in the karoke bar. Even the girls finally got brave one night and did it!
The boys loved going to the room each night and finding towel animals folded on our beds!
Jared, Jon, Dave, Robert and Miguel liked to play Cornhole - they were really good and even entered a Cornhole contest, but they lost dang it!
Our last night on the ship! One day, I had to go with Emma to something for dance and I left Jared and the boys behind. Eli begged Jared to go somewhere with him and he thought Eli had told the twins, well he didn't and when the twins got out of the hot tub they went to go find someone and we had all left the spot on the chairs where we were hanging out. They went up to the mini golf and weren't there. They checked corn hole, food court and then these smart little cookies, took their room keys and went down to the room. We weren't there either. So they ended up knocking on Grady and Ruger's door and they let them in. Bless Ruger's heart, he took the twins and took them up to eat and stayed with them until they found Jared. Thankful the boys were watched over during that little episode.
These kids of ours or more mine I should say - are party animals!! Each night they stayed up till 1am or 2am - it wasn't until we forced them to go to bed that they went - they were always having such a good time. As soon as we put them to bed they crashed hard and fast. We loved waking up in the morning and finding them snuggled together.
Kids dinner table!
Waiting to unload off the boat. It was such a great time! Sadly, we didn't take very many pictures and not of Emma either because she was always running around with her SAS friends!
I loved the fries and ice cones, Jared loved the turkey wraps - I believe the guy got to know his order and made him 2 every time the same way, the kids loved the chicken, fries, mongolian grill, ice cream cones, pizza, etc - good thing we didn't take before and after weights!
