THE TWINS FIRST REPORT!

I hate elementary school reports - it becomes our homework - I do realize they need to do them so they learn how to do reports, but I still don't like them. Tyler and Tyson came home and had to do a report on early explorers; well we got the whole family involved in this one. Emma helped Tyson research his, Jared helped Tyler research his, I helped them with the posters and their speeches and Eli liked to wonder around and help where ever he was needed. The day before they had to bring them to class to present we had them stand in front of us in the family room and practice giving the speeches and pointing to the pictures. They did such a great job and we are so proud of Tyler who has come so far in speaking in public. He wouldn't even participate in the primary program for several years because he hated it so much so for him to stand up and read big words and give it to the whole class just melts our hearts. Tyson was brave enough and made a dead face when he said how his explorer died. The morning when we were heading to school to take their posters, they found sweet little notes waiting for them from their daddy.

"Great job on your report Tyler! I wish I could watch you give your speech! You'll do an excellent job! Love you! Big Daddy"

"Awesome job Tyson practicing your speech and preparing your report! I know you're going to do a great job giving your speech! Love you! Big Daddy"

JAZZ HANDS IN CHURCH!

Today in church people got up in Sacrament and shared what their favorite hymn was and why and then we sang the first verse of each hymn. One of the songs chosen was, "Called to Serve". I looked over at this kid of mine during the last couple of measures and he is doing jazz hands - I gave him my mom eyes that say "knock it off" without having to say it and he smiled at me and with pure joy in his little heart and said, "what?! It just seemed like it needed jazz hands!"
(Emma bore her testimony about "Nearer My God to Thee" and it was really sweet and special)

3rd YEAR BASEBALL ANNIVERSARY!

3 years ago today these cute boys played in their very first baseball game - it was Rookie A. Tonight they played in their very first kid pitch game - Farm A. They have been nervous all season about being on this team - they don't know the coaches or the team mates that much and now they are the youngest and now they hit off a kid pitcher only and can steal bases. All of their nerves can be put to rest after tonight's game. Tyson hit a beautiful triple right out to center field and Tyler also hit the ball getting a single. We were so proud of them that even though we didn't leave Espee until 10pm on a school night, Jared still wanted to take them to get a much deserved treat! 3rd graders going to bed at 11pm on a school night - what's wrong with that?! Their poor teacher tomorrow :)

FALCONS SUMMER BASKETBALL!

The twins were on a summer basketball team for the first time - THEY LOVED IT!!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself too! The games were inside in AC and they went by super fast! Plus who doesn't love watching their little white boys play a little scrappy basketball! Tyson loved grabbing the ball and fighting for it so it would be a jump ball. Tyler just took the whole game so seriously. They both would end the game with red faces. The last game Tyson was fouled and got to take 2 free throws, I was so nervous for him, all the players had to leave the court so it was just him and the 2 refs, he nailed both of them - his team went crazy! I loved watching Tyler try, try and try again until his shots would go in - he was determined and his determination would eventually pay off.  They only lost 1 game the whole season. They did fantastic and I think I am just as sad that the season is over as they are. Can't wait till next time!
