AUNT ANNE'S FAREWELL PARTY!

Oh sweet Aunt Anne has decided her time on earth is finished. Her pace maker battery has expired and seeing how her husband has passed, one of her son's has passed, she has beaten breast cancer recently - she says she is ready for her wings and doesn't want to get a new battery. Aunt Anne has been like a 3rd grandma to us - when Grandma Joyce was living in California taking care of Aunt Janice - Aunt Anne would come to our school programs, etc. Everyone just loves Aunt Anne. Her daughters threw her a party where everyone got to come and say hi to her and we took pictures with her. It was kind of a weird party but really a pretty cool idea - why get together when the person is dead - lets get together while they are alive! Afterwards, some of us went to dinner at Zin Burger and then hit up Sodalicious!

On Jan 8, 2016 - I got to meet up with Richelle, Randi, Robyn and Aunt Anne - they made me take the pic of them with her so then I told Aunt Anne to hop in my picture and we would take a selfie - then Richelle hopped in and then Randi's eye :)

THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is always fun - I really just like it because it means it's Christmas time and that's my favorite! This year Jared really wanted to go to boot camp and I really wanted to continue to do the Mesa 10k Turkey Trot so we did just that. Jared took the boys and went to boot camp and Emma and I went to the Turkey trot.

The boys LOVE going to boot camp!

Emma decided this year she would actually run it instead of walking it like last year and she went from doing the 1 mile fun run to the 2 mile! She is very in shape - she has to be with all her dancing - well dancing is not the same as running. She was not happy when she finished - instead of being happy and proud of herself for finishing she was mad because she thought she held Maddie back and didn't want to make Maddie upset - well of course she didn't upset her so finally Emma got over herself and was proud for running 2 miles - even if it was a slow pace - but at least she did it!

Well Stephanie, Whitney and I were doing a great pace - rather fast actually and then Whitney decided she didn't want to do the whole 6 miles so we decided to cheat - we may have cut the course short and ran in during the finish line. We ran 4 1/2 miles and were laughing because when we crossed the finish line we got handed pieces of paper - ya we had no idea but we beat the Turkey - ha ha!!! This secret was only shared to a few select and privileged people. We did post our pictures on facebook and giggled at the comments - ya we beat the turkey you suckers!

This year was the Jensen Thanksgiving year so later that day we went to Nathan's house for Thanksgiving. Before dinner started, Jared and Nate took some of the kids out to the desert to go shooting - the boys loved it - Eli now wants a gun for Christmas!

Dinner was fun and yummy like usual. Grandma Jensen bought a wubble bubble ball and the kids had fun playing with that and Nathan shot off fireworks and let some of the kids help him with that too!

BRONCOS FLAG FOOTBALL!

Eli's usual team for flag football didn't pan out this season because most of the boys went and played tackle football so Coach Harley Ely found the next best team for us - it is with humble heart and swallowing our pride that we tried out and played for the Broncos - one of our arch rivals! I have to say Eli learned a lot and became a better player. They went undefeated in their division and territory. In the final game they played the other Broncos team which is part of them but because they are so big they split up and created 2 teams - in the finals Eli's team beat the other team - they coach didn't want to coach either team and have it be unfair so he let the kids call their own plays - it was a good game! Eli got a flag for "tackling" even though he didn't and he was the one who got hurt but whatever it takes for a win! ha ha jk! Then a couple of weeks later all the Primetime winners through out the state met up in Glendale for a big tournament to play each other and determine the winner of the state - well Eli's team ended up in 3rd place - 3rd place out of over 200 teams - not to shabby!! Coach begged and begged to have Eli play with him in the winter and we turned him down. Then he begged to have Eli play in another tournament in January, but playing on Sundays for sure takes it toll on the family. We miss church and we miss the spirit that week, so we declined.  Way to play hard this season buddy!
