SAYING GOODBYE TO KALEB DOMMER!

 The boys became really good friends with a boy named Kaleb Dommer once they started at  ALAQC. Kaleb lived 3 minutes from our house, was in our stake and was such a great kid! He was on their Bulldog basketball team and the jr high basketball team too. We loved having him around. Sadly, he was moving to Utah the day after school got out so we made plans! Wednesday night the school had a big luau for the 8th graders with free food and prizes - the boys didn't want to go but we made them go with all their friends...Tyler won a $900 electric bike and Mikey won a new xbox and headset - not to shabby. Then the next morning we let them skip the last day of school and they all went to the Temple together and did baptisms. Went back to the Halls for swimming and lunch. Then they went to Main event  and hung out for a few hours, back to the Halls and then even though 10pm wasn't late enough for them, the twins insisted that Kaleb come back to our house and hang out some more and why not send him out with a buzz cut! These boys are so lucky to have this group of friends and we will miss Kaleb!! 

ALAQC AWARDS!

 We did it! The boys worked really hard and got good grades and we are so proud of them!! Tyson and Eli earned the Director's awards and Tyler earned the Dean's award! 

I really liked how Perry would have an awards night for every grade level and last year I realized that ALAQC didn't have any except for seniors. So I went back and forth in many emails with the Director Shane Dixon and long story short - we got them to put something together for 7th - 11th grades. They did a decent job for their first one, but they have a long ways to go and luckily for me - I have a crew of ladies willing and able to help me make it better next year! Hopefully we can get them to let us run it - we will see how that pans out! As me and my friends like to say, Queen Creek is learning their is a new sherriff in town and we are coming from  Chandler and we are mixing it up around here! 

Job well done boys, we are so proud of you for your hard work! 

BASEBALL HAIRCUTS!

 Eli spent one afternoon in baseball getting a fresh mullet from BK and they didn't quite finish it so he came over and spent another hour finishing it! Then 2 days later these yahoos all decided to buzz their hair off and post pics on BAND and tell everyone to do it and that Matt said so. Ya they had a couple of players copy them - ha ha! 

SOPHOMORE BASEBALL BANQUET!

 Well with the great help of some fellow baseball moms (mostly Tanya Kimball) we pulled off a great baseball banquet. Thank heavens I was Pom & Cheer Booster President for 3 years so I had an idea of what to do. Thank heavens Tanya is such a great decorator that we could make the place look so darling even though I am sure no one cared but us! It was a great night to celebrate Eli and all of his accomplishments! He was a scholar athlete, got a ring for the JV being the conference champs and going undefeated, earned his JV certificate, earned his Varisty certicate and lettered for Varsity this year! He earned "Offensive Player of the Year" for JV, got his home run ball and walked out with quite the stash! He was always their lead off batter and probably would have had most hits on his team had it not been for his dang concussion that took him out for a game and then his next game he was quite rusty. Coach Thompson said his favorite moment of the whole year was the moment he earned the offensive player of the year award. The very first game of the season and the very first pitch of the season - Eli crushed it for a homerun! He said in all his years he has never seen that before and would most likely never see that again! Coach Thompson is a great coach for Eli. He is ALWAYS helping him become a better hitter, knows what to do to fix his hitting and Coach Tony has been a phenomal pitching coach - he has taught him how to throw all sorts of pitches and Eli's pitching is growing so much! Because of his pitching, that's why he was able to letter in Varisty - he would go up there and pitch every once in a while when they needed him. He would also pitch for JV and played 1st base. Eli was frustated being placed on JV this year but it was the best thing for him. He grew so much and so did his confidence! He is really taking his sport to the next level and wanting him for himself! We are so proud of him!

MOTHER'S DAY!

 It was a great Mother's day! I went to church with all the kids, Jared couldn't go - he was still in way to much pain. The kids actually pissed me off during Sacrament - I am tired to telling them a million times to do something or having to argue over everything little thing. I was going to go home during second hour, but I really felt like I should go to Relief Society since Emma was with me. I finally went in there with the worst attitude. Then after the lesson we had yogurt parfaits and our Relief Society President, Janet Barrot, came up and took Emma to meet her daughter who was the same age and down for the summer. I thought that was nice of her, but nothing would come of it. Well, Thank heavens for Janet and for the spirit prompting me to go....Emma and her daughter Madi have hit it off quite well and have been going to the singles ward together and different singles activities together! So grateful for her! After  Church we had both our parents over for dinner. I wasn't sure what to get either mom so I figured the chance to not have to cook dinner would have to do. Because I was just coming home from California yesterday, I told Jared that I wasn't going to cook dinner on Sunday and since he can't cook dinner, we pre-ordered Carabbas and did take out for everyone. Our moms loved it! After they left we watched one of our next movies that we are in the middle of watching (first we watched all the Harry Potters in order, then all the Indiana Jones in order and now we are watching all the Mission Impossibles in order). It ended up being the perfect day and I am so glad to have all my kiddos here! 

DISNEYLAND!

 The next day we got up and hit Disneyland! We mapped out a plan of how to hurry and get on Rise of the Resistance before the crowd caught up to us. Me, Emma and Randi ran through Adventure Land and cut across to Star Wars Land from the back way. We made friends with the family behind us thank heavens because right when we got to the line, they told us we had to go back the other way and join the long line that had formed - but I quickly told them that was a party right there so we went right in line. They wouldn't let the rest of our group join us because they were too far behind so we literally walked right on the ride! We were hustling so fast we had ridden 5 BIG rides in 2.5 hours of the park opening - on a Friday no less. It was amazing. The day was filled with laughs, rides, tons of Disney food and making memories that will last forever with Emma and my cousins! We opened the park and we shut it down, including taking a churro for the ride home! It was the perfect day!! And we got to ride the new Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway! (Emma and I rode it twice!) And we rode Splash Mountain one last time before it becomes Tiana's ride.  As a parent, you never know if you are raising your kids right not, but when I am in Disneyland and they hustle the way I do, and full out spring to rides with me, I know I have done a good job! I may have tasted blood running in the morning and Eli was concerned about it but Jared assured him, that's what your mom does in Disneyland, she's fine! Ha Ha!
