2ND YEAR OF YOUNG WOMEN EVENING OF EXCELLENCE!
I do love going to this just to see Emma have fun with her church friends - they are such a cute, good group of girls! And to mark a momentous occasion - she wore my shoes out for the first time ever - not just as a little girl running around in her moms heels - but she actually wore them - they are 6 inch wedges and she didn't even fall and break an ankle - impressive!
Mom and Emma (I did not want to take the pictures but Emma and Gwen made me, dang it!)

The gang - minus a couple (Noelle, Hoku, Emma, Sage and Jaeden)

Hoku and Emma and their Prom picture - Emma was excited to be wearing my shoes so she could be taller for once and get to be the "boy" - these girls came over after school and got ready together - love them!

All the beehives that went - we are missing some (Sage, Noelle, Brinley, Emma, Jaeden, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Hoku and Monet)

TYLER'S HERNIA!
One night Jared was gone at a coaches meeting, Emma was at dance and I was just home alone with the boys getting dinner ready. They were getting ready to take a shower and so Tyler was running from the guest bathroom to his bathroom naked and I happened to catch a glimpe of his private area and his right side of his balls looked red and swollen so I asked him "Tyler why are your balls red?" He had no idea what I was asking so I made him come here and show me - I don't have the same parts that he does but I knew that didn't seem right. Then I shouted for Tyson to come here, "Tyson show me your balls!" Of course he doesn't want to and then I make him and his don't look like Tyler's at all so then poor Eli now has to suffer the same embarrassment that the other 2 went through..."Eli come here and show me your balls!" He doesn't want to at all and then I have to explain to him that I am not being funny and that I really need to look because I think something is wrong with Tyler - sure enough - his don't look like Tyler's. I texted Jared to try and explain what I was seeing and he didn't understand so I made the boys quickly eat dinner and while they did I ran around the house and picked it up because I thought for sure based off of our experience with Emma and being sent straight from urgent care to Phoenix Children's Hospital that this was going to go the same way and I knew when I called someone from urgent care to ask them to watch the boys for me while I took Tyler to the hospital I wanted the house picked up.
We get to urgent care and as soon as Tyler dropped his pants for the doctor he knew right away he had a hernia! PHEW!!! I seriously thought he had some kind of cancer! The next morning I got Tyler into his pediatrician and he confirmed the same thing so we were off to see the special Dr Hiep Nguyen (Dr When). When we finally made it in there you couldn't really see anything and honestly - I wouldn't even notice it if I had seen it like that. He set us up for surgery and said as long as Tyler doesn't get stomach pain or has a hard time pooping he would be fine - otherwise we would have to take him straight to a hospital.
September 14th came and it was time for surgery. We kind of prepped him before hand about what was going to happen but we didn't talk a whole lot about it. Tyler HATES BANDAIDS, DOCTORS, STITCHES, etc. He has had too many runs with those situations and he hates them - so much so that he kicks and screams so much it takes multiple people to do anything - like a simple shot. So going to the hospital to get IVs, etc - well we were in for it. My hat goes off to Cardon Children's Hospital - they know their stuff! He got to pick out his hospital clothes, got to pick his scent he wanted to have in his mask, got to pick a stuffed animal (a dog which squeaks and he affectionately named Mr. Squeakerson), got to pick what to watch on tv, stickers to decorate his mask and even got to pick games to play. All was going well, but we were still nervous for the needles - then we found out - they won't do anything to him until he is completely knocked out in the operating room - YES!!! Grateful for small prayers being answered. When it was time to go back there, we said goodbye and they wheeled him away and then handled everything - we even talked to the anesthesiologist into trying to pull his loose tooth - she tried while he was knocked out but it wasn't lose enough dang it!
The dr came out and told us he was very grateful we did the surgery because it was much bigger than anticipated - so grateful for that big ol red swollen day he ran passed me so we could find it. We waited with him in the recovery room for him to wake up - the kid was out cold!! When Eli had tubes put in his ears he woke up very angry and violent and he is so opposite of that...so we feared the worst with Tyler - he is so angry and violent with shots how in the world were we going to be able to help him and control him when he wakes up from this...well - apparently knocking a person out gives them the opposite side affect of their personality - he woke up quiet and snuggly!! It took over an hour to get him ready to go home and then when finally decided he was fine and not in any pain because he wouldn't communicate his feelings to us or the nurse, she pulled out his IV and everything and then he started to get nausea but at this point she couldnt give him any medicine or anything because she just detached him from it all. Luckily the sweet boy made it without throwing up.
We took him home and layed him in our bed. His brothers were at home waiting to see him and were so excited to have him home and so was Emma. He was spoiled by everyone. Everyone did whatever he asked and treated him like a king. He ate it up! He healed quickly and nicely. He didn't go to school until Friday and couldn't play baseball all week but that was it for recovery!
After one of his many doctor appointments - he would always sweet talk me into buying him food before he would have to go back to school!

Waiting to be checked in for surgery...
The last picture is Tyler's selfie of his wound - we found it on the ipad and were cracking up - guess he wanted to check it out.

He had several people stop by and bring him a treat! This one is from Coach Adrian and Erika!

ASU FOOTBALL GAME!
It was a long day. It started with Stephanie and I running 7 miles at 6am, then the twins had a baseball game at 8am, Emma had dance at 10am, Dreson's birthday part at 11am, Eli's football game at 12pm, then we went to pick up the twins from the party, then we needed to grab Emma from dance, then Retton had a baseball game at 5pm and I thought it would be nice to go and watch him for a bit and support him, Emma stayed home because she was going babysitting for the Kims and then we would grab dinner, dessert and head home to watch football on tv.
During the baseball game Maggie said they had their season tickets that were going to be used that night and asked us if we wanted to use them so they didn't go to waste. Jared just wanted to say no and go home, but I had to point out that we had the opportunity to take all the boys to the game and we shouldn't pass it up.
So we did - with an hour notice - we ran through In-N-Out and grabbed dinner, ran home and changed our clothes, shoved food in our mouths and headed off to the game. We were sitting in the 3rd row on the 50 yard line. The boys had the best time - I was so grateful we were able to do that! Love family time and we were sure missing Emma.
