MY FIRST YEAR!

My First Year...

I entered the world on the 7th of October
6 days late, 7 pounds 8 ounces, a day my parents
will always remember.

Those first few months I didn't do much at all
My parents were told, "Enjoy this time while he is
small."

I had 8 teeth by the time I was 8 months old
"Keep your fingers out of his mouth," people were
told.

At 7 months old I was crawling by my own might
11 months old I learned to walk, left foot then
right.

As you can see I've had a busy year
Hard to believe my 1st birthday is already here.

4 DAYS SHORT!

We almost made it to his first birthday without him being too mischievous but today he had a little bit of fun. He's figured out that there is more to toilets then just disposing of human waste in them and he has also discovered that emptying a full box of wipes gets the ladies in his life (me and Emma) all fired up!

IT AIN'T NO DISNEYLAND!

Ok so Emma's October break started this week and we decided we shouldnt spend the money to go to Disneyland or Rocky Point, so instead we thought we would go to the Arizona Science Center (whoopee). Eli loved doing anything that got him out of the stroller as you can see!

Emma loved it when we left for lunch and found a house that was built in 1899 and is now "Teeter House". They have "Children's Tea" which consists of a variety of finger sandwiches, fruit, lemonade and a cookie and cream. When they brought her lunch she said "Mom, this is the best day EVER!"

The highlight of our day was when we sucked it up and decided to pay more money to go see the "The Deep Sea 3D" at the IMAX there. During the movie Elias just sat as still as could be on my lap with his glasses on and tried to reach out and grab the jelly fish, octopus tentacles, etc with this little tiny fingers and when the sharks would take a bite at us his whole body would jump - it was great :)

MIA HAMM JR!

Emma finally gets to play her "favorite" sport she says (although I really think she is just trying to be like her dad.)

She is getting better each week especially when you consider the first week she just stood around and sucked her fingers, now she will try to "attack it like a tiger"...something her dad made up for her, dont ask :). Doesnt she resemble Mia Hamm to you, or is that just her parents being really proud of her?!

MR. NO NECK!

Emma: "How come bubbas has to face backwards (in his carseat)?"
Carol: "Because he has to until he is 1 so he doesnt get hurt."
Emma: "But how would he get hurt?"
Carol: "If we get in a car accident he can hurt his neck really bad."
Emma: "But he doesnt have a neck!"

She still doesnt believe that he has a neck :)

HANNAH MONTANA OR BUST!

I heard about a contest on KISS FM where you can win tickets to go see Hannah Montana in concert. All you have to do is take a picture by a KISS FM billboard, bus sign, etc and submit your photo online and they will randomly pick people to win the tickets. I sent out an email to some people asking them to keep their eyes out for a sign for us and bless Randi and Nick's hearts because they went to so much trouble to find a billboard for us and they finally found one.

Emma and I went and took a bunch of pictures by the billboard and when I went to submit it online I decided to tell them my sob story of why I should win the tickets because I heard other people do it and their stories were dumb. Apparantly I am still a good sales person because I was able to sell our story to them and they called me yesterday 4 times to put me on air but I was at the gym. I was so frustrated with myself at the thought that I had just blown Emma's chances of going to the concert.

In an attempt at trying to get the station to call me back again we went down to the billboard and took another picture. It worked, because at 6:45am this morning they called to have me on stand by to put me on the air. At 9:30am they finally put me on the air and told me right before I went on to really ham it up so I did. I told them that the caller before me had a really lame story and mine was better, blah blah blah, they liked my competitive spirit and in the end I won the tickets (um ya, I cried on the air when they told me I won - why would I do that - I am such a homo) - so now I get to be a cool mom and take my daughter to her first concert!

"LIST" OBSESSION!

Ok so I think my obsession with lists is wearing off on Emma. Last night she wanted to make a list of the things she was going to do today. It sounds nice and all until this morning she wouldn't eat breakfast until she crossed off "wake up" and then she carried on about her morning but when I was doing her hair she told me, "I crossed off "get Sabrina" (the neighbor girl who rides with us to the bus stop) even though I didn't get her yet because in case I get hit by a car when I go get her I want it crossed off the list."
