WASHINGTON DC DAY 3!

This day we slept in a little bit later than yesterday, but still got up early - just not 6am which is 3am AZ time. Bill was kind enough to be our tour guide today and took us to Mount Vernon, Ford Theater, Peterson House, walked around the outside of the White House, the Red Cross building, Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and looked at the monuments some more and then hit up DC Cupcakes! I felt such a reverent spirit and a love for our founding fathers and all that took place at Mount Vernon, especially when we saw his tomb. Going to Arlington was so peaceful. Especially watching the Changing of the Guards - you can hear a pin drop it's so quiet. So many who gave their lives for our country and our freedoms. God bless America. The land that I love.
