FALL FLAG FOOTBALL!

Finally the twins got to play their sport! We played Eli down on a team that was actually his age for the first time ever since we always play him up an age bracket, but this way he could be on the same team as his brothers who we thought might need him. The team had a rough start, we had a couple of losses and we are pretty sure the coach kinda wrote us off...well that will teach you to write these kids off, we came back with vengeance and ended up winning the championship!


Putting Eli down to his appropriate age bracket was phenomenal for him...it was the greatest self confidence boost ever. Instead of being the little guy on the team holding his own, he became the big guy on the team who helped carry the team all the way with the other kid Kaleb. There is something I have learned with Eli, when he puts his mind to something there is no stopping him! Every time he would want the ball thrown to him so he could make a touch down the coaches would put their trust him in him and sure enough, if he asked for the ball, he scored! That even meant scoring multiple times in a single game. It was such a joy to watch him!

Tyler, he shocked everyone! At first he just went along with the team playing it like everyone else and blending in with the crowd. About halfway through the season he decided he was going to make something of himself. He is SPEED! When he wants to turn it on, no one can catch him. So, he became the boy that would run in the extra point every touchdown. The team would pass him the ball, he would take a glance at the field, evaluate the players, find his hole and book it to the finish! The coaches couldn't get enough of him! One week Tyler was team captain and he got to go out on the field for the coin toss!

Tyson was the littlest guy on the team with the biggest heart and smile! Any time he did anything great his brothers would run out and high five him! He was a little slow this season to bring out his aggressive side with this sport, but he still made us super proud with all he accomplished by pulling a few flags and even making a touch down one game. For his first sport, we couldn't have been more proud of him!

The twins are still talking in bed together so Jared went in there and picked up Tyler and took him to the den to sleep. All hell broke loose. Tyson just cried out in sheer agony for Tyler and Tyler did the same for Tyson. 30 seconds later they were back together again just to stop the heart wrenching cries for each other. Sheesh.

(Jared will tell you he held out for a good minute, not 30 seconds!)

 

TRIPLET DAY AT SCHOOL!

Ok it was really Twin Day at school, but Eli really wanted to dress like Emma and Maddy so they were so kind and planned outfits that all 3 of them could be the same in! These girls are so kind to him :)

JAKE AND RANAE'S WEDDING!

Jake and Ranae got married September 8th and we were all so excited to celebrate it with them!

 Ranae threw the bouquet so hard it flew into the back wall, bounced off and then Emma scooped it up off the ground :)

HOOKERS AND A WHITE GUY WITH A GUN!

Intriguing title isn't it :) But alas, this post is only the funny things that Tyler says...

"hookers" - are hangers that he uses as his hand like Captain Hook, but it is always fun when he asks for hookers when we go into clothing stores and people around me look at me with a weird look on their face...

"white guy with a gun" - well that would be his Halloween costume. After he tells everyone what he is for Halloween they look at us puzzled and we have to explain he is actually a Storm Trooper from Star Wars...we are working on correcting that one :)

SUPERHEROS AND A BASEBALL PLAYER!

I am finally going to finish decorating the twins room - 4 years later. We had a vinyl lettering saying made that says, "Sometimes being a brother is better than being a superhero!" That is perfect for them because they love being superheros and brothers. Here are a few samples of their pictures that will be hanging up next to the saying...

THE WEDDING RECEPTION WITHOUT A GROOM!

There are special spirits sent down from Heavenly Father, some are so special he has blessed them with a coat of armor to protect them from all the evils of this world, but that special coat of armor makes them a little bit different from the rest of us, it's a coat of armor we call Down Syndrome.

Anneisa is one of those special spirits and she has the same dreams every girl does...to have her own wedding someday. She collects the wedding magazines, has cut out pictures of how she wants her own wedding day to be, what she wants the bridesmaids to wear, her colors, etc.  Last year for Christmas her parents got her a wedding dress and this year they threw her a wedding reception. She will not be able to have a groom while here upon this earth, but some day when she gets to Heaven, she will have the most perfect and amazing man waiting for her.  But, in the meantime, her family decided to make her dreams come true and they threw her her very own wedding reception with everything she wanted!

Jared and I were lucky enough to be invited to be apart of the most amazing wedding reception. I never have felt the spirit so strong at a reception as we did that night. The day started out with Emma and I going over to bring table cloths and table cloth toppers to iron and help set up, she even got out of ballet to help (shhh, don't tell).

It was really neat to see all the people who had come to help set up, decorate and do what they can to just be apart of it.

A little bit before the reception started they had a private wedding ceremony for Anneisa where she got to walk down the aisle and her dad presented her with a ring.

That night we got Grandma Jensen to come and babysit so that Jared and I could out to dinner together before heading over to the reception. We arrived at the reception half way through and found the table to place our gift on (the movie Bride Wars, Tostitos Queso Dip, Cheez-its and some popcorn - yes, everything was on the bridal registry), the table had spilled over with gifts, this bride had more gifts then other receptions we had been to, clearly she is loved by many.  After we placed the gift there we turn to find the beautiful bride doing a dollar dance - She had so many dollars her mom had to start holding them for her. After that she had the sweetest daddy/daughter dance and about half way through she let go of her dad and did a solo dance, she was loving life and everyone in the room couldn't help, but smile from ear to ear.

After the dancing she cut her cake and then everyone there got to participate in a Dr. Pepper (her favorite drink) toast. It was hard not to let your eyes get all watery during that part listening to all the sweet/funny things everyone had to say about her. This was a pretty amazing reception for an amazing girl and this was an experience which Jared and I will not soon forget!
