HMMMMMMM!
Today is one of those days where you just have to sit back and think, hmmmmm. If I would have known how this day would turn out I would have either stayed in bed all day or captured it all on film instead of cleaning it up as I discovered it. Lotion all over my bathroom mirror, blue crayon on my island and chair, a bar of soap scribbled into my foot board on my bed, the balls from the blow-up toy scattered for the 987,587,422,235,965 time, my folded laundry piles are scattered and if I wasn't so grumpy I would take the time to write the rest.
Today is the day that I repeat in my head a bunch of times, "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it." Exactly 46 more minutes until my sweet little girl comes home, I can survive until then. Hope your day is cleaner than mine :)

FUTURE FIREMAN BUBBAS!
So a couple of weeks ago there was a huge truck with a crane parked on our street and Bubbas and I went outside to look at it. He was fascinated with it. He stared at it and kept calling it a firetruck the whole time and wouldn't come back inside until it left. So we decided he should take a field trip to a fire station. We called our good friend and he hooked the kiddo up.
Elias got to try the clothes on, get inside the truck, came home with fireman freebies and he even got to ride around inside the truck!
The boys had a great time. Eli was shy there and kept his fingers in his mouth and didn't say a whole lot but he REFUSED to let anyone take his hat off and as soon as he came home he literally ran up to me and showed me his stickers, book and his hat!! Yay for Bubbas lucky day!
Video of Bubbas at the fire station will be posted shortly.
MY MOTHER'S DAY!
My Mother's day was pretty uneventful. The only thing I look forward to each year is the menu that Jared and the kiddos make for me and I get to sleep in and order breakfast in bed but not this year, we have church at 8:30am so (sigh), no breakfast.
Emma made me a crown at church and whenever I wore it she had to do whatever I said :) Grandma Jensen came over and let the kids help her make pizza.
They had a lot of fun with that and then Nate and Jenn came over and we all ate dinner together. Happy Mother's day everyone.

MOM, I'M SORRY!
Dear Mom,
I never understood why you would get angry/annoyed at us when you would be going to the bathroom and I would knock on the door and ask you if I could go to my friend's house to play. "What's the big deal?" I would think. You are just sitting there peeing and I just want to go to my friends house. It's not like I was asking you to stop peeing to answer me, you can pee and talk at the same time. It's not like I was asking you to take me over there right that second. I was only asking you to say Yes or No, that's all. It seemed simple enough to me.
I am a mom of 4 now, just like you. Now I get it. I understand 100% now: That was your only minute of freedom from the craziness of the house. I am sorry for everytime I ever knocked on the door while you were going to the bathroom. I just yelled at my kids for bugging me. Why can't they let me pee in silence for a minute or two?! Why can't they have patience and leave me alone until after I flush?! I'm sorry Mom, I totally understand now.
I love you!
Carol Ann

HOPE YOU'RE ENJOYING THE CIRCUS SHOW!
Having twins means you are always (or I assume at least while they are little) going to be stared at wherever you go like you are a circus show performing constantly and everyone wants to watch. I went to the grocery store the other day and was there for 30 minutes. I brought the twins with me and Eli was in the car in the front of the cart and I spent 1/2 the time on the phone to one of my cousins. The boys were quiet, ate their cookies, I minded my own buisness did my thing and wanted out of there ASAP to carry on with the rest of the day.
During that 30 minutes AND while I was on the phone, I was interupted 7 times altogether with everyone wanting to tell me about their twin grandsons, their neighbor who has twins and co-worker who has a sister-in-law who's ex-husband grew up next to a lady who used to have twins (ok, so that one I made up but that's what it seems like). Everyone is really nice, telling me how cute they are, how lucky I am, "oh honey, bless your heart", etc but still, sometimes it would just be nice to be left alone so I could shop or talk on my phone uninterupted. I always feel like I have to stop and talk to them and smile and sometimes, really, I just want to grab my dang eggs and milk and go. On the other hand, if they didn't say anything...would that upset me like my kids weren't cute enough?! hmmmmmm.
PS - most annoying question in the world..."are they twins?" "NOPE! I just happen to have two kids the same size, same age, in the same clothes, but they aren't twins."

MRS. GREEN THUMB!
I am the Enrichment Leader in my ward and a few months ago we had a fantastic Enrichment (I can say this because the fantastic part was not me teaching it, it was this fabulous girl who came in and taught it). It was all about learning different things related to food. I taught 72 hr kits, then we had someone teach how to make baby food, freezer jam and gardening. I left feeling guilty/pumped. I felt guilty that we put this together and I didn't garden, I should not preach what I don't practice but then I was pumped because I wanted to go home and start a garden.
I didn't want to dig up the ground because I wasn't prepared to go 100% yet since I didn't even know if it was something I could do/wanted to keep up, etc. The girl taught us about gardening in 5 gallon buckets and sent us home with onions, a tomato plant a few other things. So I decided, why the heck not, lets give it a whirl in a 5 gallon bucket and if it doesn't work out, oh well, but if I like it and can be successful (successful meaning I didn't have to grow enough to feed the neighborhood, just one thing from each plant would make me ecstatic) then I would do a huge garden box next season. I have planted basil (which I have used twice while cooking dinner, thank you very much), tomatoes, bell peppers, jalepenos, green beans and onions.
Well, the garden is growing, nothing to harvest but it is all getting taller and thicker. One day last week I went out there to water and check my garden and I found a jalepeno - my first anything. I was so super excited and I touched it, just barely, and the freaking jalepeno fell off. I could have cried. I called Jared and he laughed at me and called me a little school girl for having to touch everything. Here is a picture of my sweet jalepeno, RIP.
We did try it and it tasted like a bell pepper. This morning I counted 5 jalepenos growing and all bigger than the broken one. Woo hoo! Garden box...here we come!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!
Tuesday night we got a phone call from our good friends that they had tickets to Wednesday's D-Backs game, with no one to use them since the game was in the middle of the week and in the middle of the day. Lucky for us, Jared works a weird schedule and had that day off so he decided to take Eli to his first baseball game and surprise Emma by pulling her out of school early and taking her to the game as well (I was lucky enough to stay home with the twins who were both teething and one had a temp of 103. It was awesome; next time, my turn).
When Jared showed up to take Emma out of school, he couldn't have planned it any better. Emma had just finished putting a paper away and then she was headed back to her desk to put her head down during the entire lunch recess with the rest of her class who were in trouble for talking to much while the substitute was there. When Emma got in the car she didn't care what they were doing she was just happy to be out of there. I put together a snack bag for the gang and drinks and they headed off. They had a free parking pass with great parking, they got to walk some tunnel thing over a train track which Elias thought was the coolest thing and they got to walk in some fancy carpeted area, etc.
They had the best time ever! Emma was asking question after question about baseball and learned a lot about the game. For instance, she was unsure if stealing a base was even allowed and was very concerned when Daddy pointed out that a Colorado Rocky player was trying to steal 2nd base. Elias surprisingly had a fantastic time as well: climbing/sliding in and out of his seat, eating treats, having the ladies next to him fall in love with him, annoying the guy in front of him, and entertaining the guy behind him with tattoos all over his body who was also there with his kids (someone who Jared is pretty sure is in a heavy metal band cause he looked awfully familiar). They were even on the jumbo tron since their area got picked for the free towel give-aways. Several foul balls were even hit in their direction which was another cause of alarm for Emma since the people behind home plate have a net to protect them but nobody else does :)
They left during the 7th inning stretch and decided to drive to Grandma Jensen's house to surprise her but the real surprise was on them because she made them one of her famous homemade pizzas. The day was perfect and they couldn't have asked for it to go any better!
