Is school really starting in 3 days?! We didn't go on a family vacation this year but we kept busy doing something?! Some highlights for the kiddos: Emma and Maddy getting to stay a weekend with Grandma Jensen and getting spoiled in ways that only a grandma can do with goodies, games, swimming, etc.

Emma also got spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa Rodgers and enjoyed a weekend going to see "Up", getting dinner, Coldstone and going to her first musical to see "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" at Gammage.

Eli got to do a Parent/tot tumbling class through the city and Grandpa Rodgers took him to a Dinosaur Museum for a few hours and he came home with the biggest dinosaur ever. The next morning he woke up and gave his dinosaur some water out of the faucet - he was thirsty :)
This last week of summer we tried to jam pack it full of fun since we didn't do much. Jared took it off of work and we started the week off with Amazing Jake's (a big thank you to Grandma Jensen for babysitting the twins!)

Eli's first time bowling - only the best entertainment ever. Basically every turn should be his turn, he carries the ball with all his might to the line until it buzzes at him and then he drops/puts it down and then gives it a little push and we all sit and stare at it for about 5 minutes until it reaches the pins, then we get to race back and watch it pop out of the ball dispenser thingy.

The kiddos had a great time riding the little rides, playing the games and eating the food.

The kids also went to Bounce Jungle, the movies, Emma had a movie night with her friends over here and she went shopping for new school clothes. Funniest thing ever - watching her strategically place the bags up and down her arms so everyone can see how many she has as she walks around the mall (secretly admit it, you did this too when you were younger!)

Today we ended the summer with a bang - we went to the lake with the Votaws (thanks Grandma Jensen for watching the twins again). It was Eli's first time. Poor kid doesn't get out much, first thing he says when we get to the lake is, "wow, look at the big rocks!" Joel let the kiddos drive; Emma spends the time driving us back and forth because she keeps correcting her last move (it will be a loooong time before she gets her license) and Elias just drives us in circles!

We did a little lake swimming

and a little wakeboarding

even Emma wanted to try and even popped up out of the water for 1 split second

It was a fun summer and a busy one - 2nd grade here we come in 3 days!!

We have 2nd graders?! I can't believe it, where has the time gone!!
Best of luck, Emma, in 2nd grade!
You look to cool to wakeboard Jared, Emma you tried not to smile to much when you drove the boat, to bad you cound't contain it. Looks like you all had a great summer!
Ok when I saw that picture of Emma holding all the shopping bags, that tottaly reminded me of my friends and I in Jr. High. We would go in stores and just ask for an empty bag, so we could walk around with it!! haaa. Dorks. And of course the Abercrombie ones also had hot guys on them :-) Which I could hang them around my room and school locker too!
All in all it sounds like a pretty fun summer. I'm sure the kids will remember it.
Sounds like a GREAT summer. I can't believe that summer went by so fast! Emma will do awesome in
2nd grade.

Sounds like a fun and busy summer. Love the lake pictures. Wish I knew someone that would take me to the lake. :)
Sounds like you had a fun busy summer. I love the picture's on the boat and love amazing jakes. By the way if you need any dinosaur pictures for Elias go ahead and take them from my blog:).
Wow, it sounds like you did a LOT over the summer. We didn't do too much. But it would probably seem like a lot more if I actually blogged it. If I actually blogged period.
I LOVE the picture of Eli bowling... looks like he is being soo careful not to make the buzzer go off, while holding onto his ball the optimal amount of time!
And such a girl thing to do to have all Emmas shopping bags showing... I can totally see Maddy doing that!
Emma looks super cute on her first and second days of school!!
