LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Last day of school! Half day for everyone! The kids had such a great year this year. Emma juggled friends, 4.5 GPA, zero hour, online honors biology, an AP class, honors classes, cheer, dance, family and finished her personal progress. Jared and I often comment how much she amazes us and does so much more than we ever would have done and is better at it too! We loved our little carpool group, Emma, Anni Hall and Bailey Brown!

Eli had a phenomenal 4th grade year. He became really good buddies with Treyson, they pushed each other to do better, they kind to kids, they were athletic, smart and popular - a combination Mrs Palomarez says she never sees. They were the tops of every class. Eli came home every now again stressed over his math grade. He was doing 5th grade math, but if their grade ever fell below an A, they would get bumped down, so every once in a while he would beg to check his grades online and make sure he was still doing good! He finished the school year off with straight A's in the highest classes! We loved having Mrs. Palomarez as his teacher. She knew him more than me I think. She helped us fill out the request for teacher placement for 5th grade and the way she described how he excels and what he needs brought tears to my eyes, I love that a teacher loves my kid so much and knows him so well. She really pushed him to aim higher and excel more. She was exactly what he needed.

Tyler and Tyson were once again reuntied together in class. They were together in kindergarten and then we separated them after that, but felt like they needed to be back together again. We were right. They did amazing together. They don't need to sit by each other or even be in the same math or reading, but they for sure need to be in the same home room. They help each other without even realizing it. They also help each other after school on homework, maybe they even copied one another too - ha ha! I tried to stop it, but sometimes I just didn't care, cause they were getting it done! They both finished with all As and Bs and even bumped up levels in math and reading. The boys who started school so young and at the bottom are now finally on level and doing amazing! We will miss the texts and inside scoops from Mrs Tibbotts. Tyson even had a little crush on her daughter and would sit up in class and be the perfect student whenever she came into the room - too bad she is a 6th grader - ha ha!

PATHETIC DATE NIGHT!

When you got to your son's baseball game and the other 3 kids are at home - this becomes our date night and we hold hands and share the same bag of sunflower seeds! We might have text Mike the league owner and had him deliver us some ice cones for our date night dessert! ha ha! #jensensareromantic

RAIDER NATION!

Not a fan of the NFL Raider team, but I am a HUGE fan of these Raiders! Eli's team went undefeated all season long. Then they played in the tournament and also went undefeated. They ended up losing the championship game to their arch nemesis Team Ace by 1 one point. I was sitting at Emma's dance competition and was getting a play by play from Jared it was intense. I am sad I missed the game - it was such a great one and I am even more sad I missed the big fight between the parents afterwards. Eli went up and down the bench giving his team mates high fives and telling them good luck and that they had to win. I love this boy of mine. #oldsoul #sweetspirit

TWINS TIGER BUDDY AWARD!

My heart could burst! These cute little third graders of ours got the Tiger Buddy award for being so kind and helpful to those kids with special needs! Those with special needs are dear to my heart and I'm so glad these two of mine think the same way! They had to dress up as baseball players because their class had to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" in the third grade assembly.

CHIPPED TOOTH ROUND 2!

Tyson Steven chipped ANOTHER front tooth. Him and some buddies decided to throw rocks after baseball practice. His friend's rock bounced off a backpack and hit Tyson in the tooth. Oy Vey! Dr. Parry to the rescue. Fingers crossed this one lasts longer than the first one. I have a feeling this kid will need veneers when he is 18! I made him try a pickle on the way to the dentist office - his face was the best!

WOLF AWARDS!

Tyler and Tyson have been waiting 2 months for this pack meeting - they finally got presented with their wolf awards! Tyler was stressed about digging out his award in a tin full of whipped cream since he hates whipped cream - but he handled his business like a pretty boy. Brother Crandall got a little tired of their clean faces and shoved their heads in it - ha ha!

4th GRADE HIGHLIGHTS!

In the last month of 4th grade there have been a few things I wanted to make sure and document for Eli.

This kid is braver than Jared and I ever were. He decided he wanted to run for Student Body Secretary. He had the best posters and the best little speech he wrote himself. Sadly though, fidget spinners are a hot item and his opponent put fidget spinners all over his poster and in his speech promised to have fidget spinner fridays - I knew our little buddy was screwed - I was right - the other kid won. Oh well, Eli handled it like a champ. He loved hanging up his posters and was so proud of them. That afternoon I took donuts to his class to tell all the kids who ran and won congratulations and to all the kids who ran and lost - well they were very brave to do that and they should be proud of themselves! Jared and I are so proud of this kid for doing it and I hope he doesn't give up!

Eli had the ever dreaded 4th grade recorder concert. I was prepared that I would need a very tall pepsi after having to sit through this concert, but I must admist - it was pretty dang good! They sounded great and ummm hello music teacher - THANK YOU for keeping the concert only 15 minutes long! Short but sweet - loved it! I loved Eli practicing at home too - he was cute.

On Cinco de Mayo - Eli's class had a salsa making contest. They got put into groups and had to bring in a recipe and then vote on which recipe to make, split up the ingredients and then make it. Then they all voted on who had the best one. I went in to class to help so they could use the blender. I told them how to remove the cilantro leaves off the stems and then they had to dump everything into the blender. After we mixed it all up, they tasted it and decided what it needed more of. I did not help at all. They were funny. They must have added ingredients half a dozen times. In the end they were confident they had THE BEST salsa! Pretty sure they lost, but Eli didn't care, he came home and shared it with his brothers and was so proud of it. He wanted to make more. The boys ate it up super quick.

4th grade Assembly. They sang songs. Eli told us he got picked in the last song to come up front and "dance" because he was one of the best dancers - ha ha! He is no Emma, but for a boy in 4th grade - he had some rhythm going - ha ha!

Peep catapult contest! The kids were broken up into groups and using only the following items, they had to create a catapult to launch a peep the farthest to win. 2 peeps, 10 rubber bands, 1 glue stick, 1 plastic spoon, 10 Popsicle sticks and a ruler for measuring.  Mrs. Palomarez sent the following note to us about Eli and Treyson...."I totally razzed Eli and Treyson. Their group couldn't figure out how to make a catapult. In fact, they were one of the last groups to figure it out. I walked over in the middle and said, "I think its HILARIOUS that the two most brilliant minds in 4th can't figure out how to make a catapult!! They took the razzing and turned it into the winning launcher. Lol. I said, You are very welcome!"

Eli and Treyson have been such a good pair together this year. They are the smartest 4th graders and what blows the teachers minds is not only are they the smartest, but they are very athletic and popular too! She says you never see that combination, but all the kids want to be around them and play with them and be in their group. They are loved by many. Hopefully they keep this up!

MOTHER'S DAY!

My whole world (plus Jared) #myreason #myloves #mypaininthebutts

I had a great Mother's day weekend. If my mother's day isn't spent at a dance compeition, I guess it will be spent at a baseball tournament all weekend. But this one was special because the whole family was together and I loved it. I love how Emma is having to learn baseball for her brothers sake and Jared has to teach her. She will spend her head down looking at her phone the whole time and then all of the sudden pop up and say, "Wait - how did Eli get on base?" "Oh Emma, he got a hit and stole bases"  "OH Eli is pitching!"  Fun weekend together!

SCIENCE CENTER FIELD TRIP!

The boys were supposed to go on a field trip today, but at 7:30am I got a text from the their teacher asking me to go on it with them because they had a parent back out. Lucky for me it was a short day with Alyza and Jared was able to watch her the other part while I was gone so I got to spend the day with these turkeys!

GREECE OLYMPICS!

Tyler and Tyson had their Greece Olympics today. They got to dress up in togas and do different olympic games. Chariot races, long jump, javeline throw, relay races, frisbee throw, etc. They had so much! They are the cutest!
