Well Christmas Eve didn't go exactly how I had it planned, but I won't complain because I was better before I woke up Christmas morning so that's all that mattered. I spent Christmas Eve day home alone by myself on the couch while Jared took the kids to the movies to see the Gaurdian and to lunch. That night we went to my parents for the usual Christmas Eve fondue and present opening. Sadly, I was to sick to eat the fondue. Every one else enjoyed themselves and that makes me happy.
Everyone enjoying the fondueTyson opening up his gifts from Grandma and Grandpa
RJ helping him find his hidden treasures
Just a random cute picture of our smiley boy
Tyler taking his turn...
Now it's Eli's turn...
Finally Emma...
Me and Jared giving Caryn the speech therapist a hard time because she can't same the name of the game right...
Sadly, we couldn't stay long at grandma and grandpa's house that night because I started to feel really sick and wanted to go home. When we came home we had the twins go and sprinkle their reindeer food out on the lawn to help the reindeer find their way to our house :)
After we got them all in bed, Jared made me a healthy smoothie to help me feel a bit better, it worked. Never have I been so happy that I did things ahead of time, luckily for me, all but 5 presents were wrapped so we didn't have to stay up all night doing that. We were able to set out the gifts and get to bed.
We have such good kids, they came into our room about 7am (Emma claims she had been awake since 5am, but I have a hard time believing her, ha ha) and were super excited at all the gifts that awaited them out there. This year I put one letter on each present to represent who it went to, I did their middle initial Jared thought they would never figure it out, it took Emma all of 2 minutes if that to realize what it was and then the kids got to sorting right away.
Eli and his custom made baseball just for him. It was made to weigh what he needs it to weigh to swing good, it has his name on it and his club baseball team name on it, "Heat".
Emma and her pillow pet she asked for. She was a good sport, she just wanted an iPod touch, iPhone, anything electronic and some clothes and other silly things. She got tons of clothes, another pair of Uggs, all her silly things she requested, but nothing electronic. It probably doesn't seem like it should be that big of a deal, except for when her little brother got a nexxus 7, then it becomes a kick in the gut. She did enjoy coming out and trying on every new outfit she got and we made sure to let her know how freaking cute she was!
Tyler happy as can be
Tyson's dream come true, a black Spiderman costume! "YESSS"
as you can tell he put it on as soon as he opened it...
Eli, my love (he often comes to me and asks me a question and says, "my love" instead of mom, ya he melts my heart a bit), takes after me...check him out picking up trash during present opening without even being asked! Woo hoo!!
Here is where the line forms for the boys to wait patiently as daddy goes as fast as he can to open every package, screw in every new battery and get all the toys working properly!
While they try on new clothes, play with new toys, I make our new traditional Christmas morning breakfast. When we were first married and just had Emma we always had hot chocolate and blueberry coffee cake, then a few years ago we got cute Christmas pancake shapes and so now we have little smokies, orange julius and snowmen, Christmas tree and ginger bread man shaped pancakes!
After breakfast its more playing time and then eventually it will be nap time before we go over for the Jensen Family Christmas get together.
This year Christmas was at Nate and Jenn's house. We had a delicious dinner and then did a quick nativity play and then it was present opening time! The adults did the white elephant gift exchange, Jared and I thought we were so funny to regift what we got last year, it came back to bite us in the butt because we ended up with a regift from last year also, well we hope to have the last laugh...that regift we received will be making an appearance again Christmas 2013! Muhahahaha!
the kids getting spoiled like usual...
Christmas came and went waaay to fast this year. I am sad I have to wait another 364 days until we can celebrate it again. I am most excited though that we pulled off another year with Emma believing in Santa Claus, I think deep down she really knows, but since we won't admit it, she holds on to the magic of Christmas.
2 other note worthy Christmas time events....Grandma Rodgers took Eli to his class party to help him make a gingerbread house...he LOVED it. He was the last one to finish and only left because grandma made him be done, funny boy!
Emma had about 8 friends from church over to have a little sugar cookie decorating party, such a good group of girls :) (Anni, Emma, Jaeden, Hoku, Maddy and then not pictured was Haley P., Haley T. and Morgan)
