THIS KID RIGHT HERE!

 1. He got a job at Subway this week! We are so proud of him! Now he has to be a big boy and pay for his own gas - sucker!

2. He sent us the following text on Tuesday and we are so grateful he listened to the promptings of the spirit...

"i have a little story that just happend to me about following promptings. basically i was leaving the house to go to jackson's house and i had the most random impression to go back to the house for no reason so i thought maybe i didn't lock the door or something and i went back home and checked the door and i was like that was random. so then i start driving again and as im driving to his house there was a pretty bad accident right on the road i was driving on and it was pretty recent b ecause both cars were still there with glass and everything on the ground and no cops yet. so i dont know what would have happened if i didn't listen to that prompting. so make sure to listen to all promptings fam!"

STOLWORTHY HONEYMOON!

Emma and Hunter spent their honeymoon traveling up to Idaho but making pit stops in St George, Grand Canyon, the lake, Yellowstone, Island Park....thank heavens Hunter has grandparents with cabins in each of these places! They had the best time!

BUZZ AND BLEACH!

All these boys have wanted for the last couple of months is to buzz and bleach their hair with all their different sports friends - it's quite the thing to do around here! I REFUSED to let them buzz and bleach before Emma's wedding. We've had several arguments over it. "If Emma doesn't care, why do you care?!" Jared finally told them "this isn't Emma's wedding, it's your mothers!" I made them a promise that as soon as her wedding was over, they could do it. Luckily they have a VERY nice aunt who agreed to do it first thing Monday morning after the wedding! I think their life is complete now :) My 3 darling Slim Shadys!

THE SENDOFF!

Sadly, it was time for the most magical night to come to an end! Everyone went to go line the walk way and light the sparklers and Jared and I got to hug Emma goodbye one last time as our  baby girl, she thanked us over and over for the most perfect amazing day, then we got to hug Hunter and thank him for loving Emma and told him to take care of her for us and then Jared and I went to go join all our friends and family in the send off! It was perfect! Everyone jumped in and helped get them lit and she was so happy! The boys were cheering for him, the girls were smiling watching the princess take her walk and then that was it....they hopped in her car and drove off! We got the wedding cleaned up pretty quickly, thank heavens for the many hands that made for light work and then everyone left and Jennifer and I changed our clothes, made several dump runs to the church to get rid of all the trash, came back and stuffed our faces with pizza, salads and drinks! Jennifer and I stayed up till almost 3am rehashing the best day ever! Then I found a thank you card from Emma in my room! She thought of everything!! She was so grateful! I couldn't sleep that night because I was so happy with how it was the most perfect day ever! I got to enjoy every moment! Her getting ready, helping her change in the temple, watching her sit across the alter from her eternal compainion, exiting the temple, watching her take her pictures, eating Cafe Rio with our boys and Jennifer and Abby after the temple, decorating, the ring ceremony, every moment on the dance floor, the cake cutting, the sparkler sendoff, you name it, I got to be fully present for it! It was exactly what I wanted! My friends took care of everything so I didn't have to worry about a thing and I just got to be in the moment. I will be forever grateful to my friends who made this all happen, to our families who partied it up with us, to mother nature for giving us great weather to keep it in our backyard, it wasn't windy, rainy or hot when the sun went down, to Jared for being my best friend and sharing in this night with me and agreeing with me that it was better than our own wedding....not because ours wasn't amazing, but because there is something about watching your kids be happy that brings you all the happiness in the world and to Heavenly Father for allowing this to be everything it was and more!

DANCE PARTY!

Dance Party in full affect! Emma and I both really wanted a fun dance party atmosphere! I think we can say, mission accomplished! The dance floor was packed the whole night with kids and adults dancing the night away! Slow songs, group dances, dance circles happening, songs that just make you want to jump...you name it, we had it! They wore the light up glasses, held the styrofoam light up sticks....this crew fully accepted the dance all night assignment and we couldn't have been happier!! (Seeing how I am writing this 3 months later...friends and family are still telling me how fun it was and even Grandma Rodgers just said she wanted to do it all again because it was so much fun!) Sweet Jared had a hard time dancing with Emma...as he danced with her it hit him that this was it....she was no longer his little girl and she was now officially Hunter's. In order to avoid crying, he made her talk to him - ha ha!

RING CEREMONY!

I really wanted to have a ring ceremony so Emma's brothers and any other family that couldn't be inside the Temple could feel apart of her special day! Emma got to pick who she wanted to perform the ceremony and who she wanted to walk her down the aisle. She made the perfect choices! Grandpa Rodgers walked her down the aisle, handed her to Hunter and said, "this is the last thing I will ever give you!" Then Jared performed the most beautiful ceremony. Told how they met, dated, how well Hunter treated her, how respectful he was, etc. She walked down the asile to "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. I could have burst watching Alyza walk down the aisle beaming from ear to ear and then all siblings, cousins and best friends walking together before Emma and Grandpa came down!
