Emma spent the spring and summer of 2020 applying for a million different scholarships. She spent hours and hours and never got anything. It was very frustrating especially when we felt she deserved them. But, when she earned her UVU presidential scholarship then we felt like, "Ah, that's why, because you were getting the best one and didn't need the rest, but sometimes it's good to put in all the effort first so you can really appreciate the reward and blessings in the end!" Then Jared had her apply for the Intel scholarship and so she did, but she didn't put effort into because she already had a full ride. Well much to our surprise, she got awarded the Intel scholarship and earned $4,000. Over 1,800 applied for it but, and a few received it, but she was one of the lucky ones! We are so happy for her and excited for her to be able to cash that in and put it in her savings account for grad school or whatever else she may need it for! So proud of you Em!

UNCLE ALAN'S FUNERAL!
Poor Uncle Alan had some sort of stomach cancer and on Monday the doctor told him he had 3-6 months left to live. That night he took a turn for the worst and Tuesday Aunt Nancy called Anthony and Jonny to come over and give him a blessing. In the blessing Anthony said told him it was ok to go now and then when the blessing was finished, he took his last breath. So sad. Funerals are so sad, because you realize that person will no longer be around, but there is something very sweet about all the family coming into town to give love and support. I did not expect my out of town cousins to come into town for this, but they did and after the viewing (which was very neat to see Great Uncle Jimmy there, the man who sealed me and Jared together for time and all eternity), funeral, dedication of the grave and then luncheon I was able to get some of the cousins together to just hang out. Me, Paul, Jonathon & Ryan hung out for a little bit down in Grandma's basement and then they wanted Sodalicious so we headed there for drinks and hung out in the lobby for over an hour just laughing and telling stories. Then we headed back to grandma's and visited with some aunts and uncles and then we met up with Jared, Richelle, Michelle and Stephen and headed to dinner before some of the guys had to head back home. Jared commented that night as we were heading to bed how happy I was all day. I LOVE being with my cousins, something so warm and comfortable with it...reminds me of growing up! Hopefully our new house will be done and I can host a cousins retreat in the spring to bring us all together! It will be sad to visit grandma and not to have Uncle Alan and Aunt Nancy there to visit also.

BOYS CAMP!
The boys left for boys camp for 4 days and had the BEST time!! So grateful for all the leaders who put so much effort into these. Since I was not there I don't have much to say about it, but they did some boat building, hiking, paintball shooting, breakfast cooking, service project, etc...
