CORE BASEBALL!

Eli finished up another season of baseball, this time with Core. They won the tournament at Cactus Yards - it was awesome - one because he won and two because it was at Cactus Yards and we didn't have to go far! Eli had some incredible hits this weekend - including a foul ball that had it gone fair it would have been a huge homerun. Love watching this boy play sports with a huge smile on his face! It was hard to come into a new team midseason, but he really enjoyed the team and the coaches!

INSOMNIAC RACE!

When Shawn posted he ran an Insomniac 10k race - it intrigued me...I thought - I love night running and I want to beat Shawn's time. So I called up my running partner Denise and asked her if she was in and without hesitation she was in. We signed up, we didn't train, we didn't know what we were getting into, we had no idea it was pitch black trail running, but like always - we had the best running, talking, laughing, trying not to fall and then Denise fell at the very end and ripped her pants and jacked her hands. We left at 9:30pm to head out there and got home around 2am. I think Jared and I finally got to bed around 3am. We ran into Shawn before our race started and he had just finished his...our start time was 11pm. We were glad we ran into him he had some very helpful tips and tricks! Would we do it again?! Yep! We are crazy!

BANDITS UNDEFEATED SEASON!

The boys signed up for another flag football season with all their friends and Coach Tony! This time around they were the Bandits. They fought really hard and beat everyone - including the really hard undefeated teams. They won the division championship but lost in the tournament...it's fine...we love losing to a team who brings in different players and scouted out our games and learned our plays - ha ha! After the tournament Tony treated the boys to a couple of hours at Top Golf. They had a blast! These boys have the best time together!

COUSIN CAVE SWIMMING!

Emma was lucky enough to have Abby and Sidney Fa'anunu pretty close to her in Utah. They got together only a couple of times throughout the year - its hard when none of them have cars. But they always enjoyed their time together. Then after they all finished their finals second semester they hung out several times together going to dinner, checking out downtown Provo, hanging out and even Jennifer bought them tickets to go to some Cave in Mapleton (I think?) and go swimming inside the cave. The water was 95 degrees. They had the best time! So grateful for cousins!

ELI AT SCHOOL!

So I get this text from my friend (Carrie) who is a sub at the school and its this picture with the caption:

Hard at work or hardly working? You decide.

My response: Based on his crappy math test score - I would say hardly working

Her response: He's so social. I wonder where he gets it from?

My response: His dad obviously!

Ha ha I crack myself up! Look at this kid all social like his momma!

JAM PACKED WEEKEND!

It was another regularly over scheduled Jensen weekend! Just how we like them - except for maybe Jared - but he is a good sport and has learned to put up with them! It started out with a last minute invite to go paddle boarding down the river - I am usually not so spontaneous like that to go because I am so scheduled out it meant I didn't get the things done around my house that I should have, but I didn't care - I decided this is something that I have wanted to do so I jumped at the chance and went - it also helps when Jared is so supportive of me ditching my duties and having fun! That night was the 8th grade graduation pool party and I dragged Jared and Dalton into coming with me to help since I volunteered to make sure the kids would still get the party that the district tried to cancel. Eli brought 2 of his friends and we snuck them in - I felt good about it - ha ha!

The next monring I got up early with Eli so he could go with Jake, Braxten and Jackson to go hike and swim and enjoy Fossil Creek! He had the best time - he was gone for 12 hours, swam in the clear water, jumped on a rope swing into the water and did some hiking and cliff jumping!

Later that morning was a football game and as soon as the first snap of the game happened, Tyson intercepted it and almost made a touchdown, but got his flag pulled and then he was out the rest of the game in tears because he had hurt his hamstring so bad. Luckily Easton's mom is a sports injury doctor and she looked at and said yep, no more running today, no more playing, only ice and meds for the next week so it can heal for the next weekend. The team went on to win and they ended the regular season undefeated!

Later in the afternoon we headed to Phoenix for Tyson's basketball tournament. He was told he shouldn't play, but we needed to go and support the team. Little man snuck into the game, even made a basket and seemed to be doing ok. In between that game and the next game he was crying some more because his hammy hurt again and he said that when some kid on the other team told him he was slow he got mad and sped up and thats when he jacked himself. He sat out the championship game and cheered his team on to victory. The best part of the game was watching Coach Kareem be so nice to Tyson and sit by him, check on him, etc. He is a great kid!

We had plans after the game to take the twins and Mikey to Cheesecake Factory for dinner, but when there wait was so long I talked Jared into booking it over to the eastside for Perry's State Championship Men's Volleyball game. We knew so many of the players that it was fun to go and cheer them on and watch them win. The boys ran in, bought nachos and ran up the stairs to hang with their friends and lose their voices cheering the team on. They even rushed the floor after the game - dorks!

It was a great weekend and I love watching my kids do all these things!

MOTHER'S DAY!

For the last probably 8ish years my Mother's Day weekends no longer involve sleeping in and waking up to breakfast in bed (minus 2020 when the world shut down) instead I have spent them at dance competitions and now baseball tournaments!

Yesterday and today we had to get up at 5:20am to get the day started for baseball out in Peoria but it was worth it to watch Eli crush the ball all weekend and win the tournament. He got to bat 9 times and smacked it every time and got on base 7 of them! (And somehow I bamboozled Tyler into giving me a foot massage! HAHA)

And let me not forget the twins playing a double header this weekend and beating the #1 team in the league (Tyler and Tyson referred to the game as their version of the Chandler Raiders vs Ace - it was not quite to that extent but I loved their mindset - and Tyson was a key player in the game - he kept rushing their QB and pulling their flags so he got hoisted up for pics - ha ha! Tyler was doing his job at wing though to give Tyson that opportunity!) and they won their basketball game 45-18! If you are going to spend Mother's day weekend doing sports at least we won them all! And as an added bonus, Jared packed a yummy breakfast for us that morning that we ate at the ball game and then when we got home, him and RJ made a yummy dinner!

I can't let the day go by though with out a shoutout to Emma. She made me a mom 19 years ago and today was the first time I spent the day without her. It was hard, I shed a few tears, I wish I could hug her but I can't wait to see her in 2 weeks!
