30th BIRTHDAY FOR THIS SPECIAL GIRL!

This special girl turned 30 this month and we were lucky enough to celebrate it with her! We made sure she got the things we promised her, cake pops and the Dirty Dancing sound track - what could be better!

CHICK-FIL-A ATTACKS!

Well maybe they didn't attack Tyler per se, but Tyler did leave Chick-fil-A as the loser. He was playing inside and ended up getting hurt. The boys came out to tell me so I told them to tell him to come see me and if he didn't then he can just keep being stubborn. He didn't come out. 30 minutes later we left and he was still just sitting there not playing. He cried out in pain when I tried to put his shoe on so I carried him. He limped the rest of the day and the next day. Finally the third day when he was trying to run to get on the bus and he was still limping, I decided to take him in. Jared and I were sure he had Jensen weak ankles and that he had just rolled it. We were wrong. He had broken a small bone on the top of his foot. Oops! 4 hours later we left with a boot and a happy boy (only because I bribed him to smile for the picture with a BIG sucker!)
ps - the doctor said that kids can't remember to fake it that long so next time if he continues to limp, I should take him in sooner - bad parenting on my part.

11 AND STILL BELIEVES!

A SUCCESSFUL SATURDAY FOR THE JENSEN KIDDOS!

Our weekends are jam packed and super exhausting, but we love them. We especially love the weekends where all of the kids have some great successes!

Emma FINALLY after 2 years got her aerial! I haven't seen it, but she called to tell me she landed it (which she has done before, but she was wrong), Miss Val called to tell me and her friend Bella told me! So by george, I think she might have it!

Eli played in his first soccer tournament this weekend: 3 games and 3 losses. What's so successful about that?! Well, we are proud that he survived his first tournament weekend, he played his freaking heart out, he is the one of the only few kids on the team who is not afraid to charge the other team AND he made one of the only two goals in the second game. Oh and they played up in every game so it's hard to beat kids who are bigger when the entire team only comes to their shoulders.

Sadly, I missed the amazing goal (I was at the twins' baseball game) but here is the summed up version of it. All the parents are disappointed it wasn't on video and they still talked about it the next day! Eli kicked the ball to go into the goal and a player on the other team kicked it away straight into Eli's face! It flattened him to the ground and the ball slowly rolled, rolled and rolled some more until it made it into the net! Eli was down and out on the field while the ball was rolling so he had no idea what was going on, but when he came to and hopped up he was surprised to see the entire team running towards him and cheering, he had no idea what happened. Later that night his nose and eye were green from the ball, but Eli didn't care, he pretty much thought he was awesome and talked it about it several times!

The Jensen twins were on fire yesterday at baseball! I couldn't have been more proud of either of them. They had their best game yet! They each got to bat 4 times and Tyler hit 3 singles and 1 double and Tyson got 2 singles. Every time they made it to base they ended up being able to score! The Jensens were the only two to score in the 3rd inning - holla! Every time they came home they had the world's biggest smiles on their faces - I loved it!

Tyler had to sub and play catcher today - he is the cutest catcher ever, but buddy - you have a lot of work to do if you ever want that job again :) Bless your heart! Tyson played right field and got the ball and threw it in whenever it was hit to him.

 Tyler is the ready position
Tyler throwing it to first base - the only time he touched the ball

 Tyler batting
This is my serious favorite - whenever Tyler is on a base - this is the position he stands in - he is ready to take off like a bolt of lightning
Tyler got one of the medals at the game because him and one other player were the only ones to hit doubles today
Tyson I do apologize I don't have any pictures of you today, but I didn't take any of these - Coach Rodney took them - I will work on getting some of you next week!

After all the games and dance ended, we met up with the Murrietas at San Tan Flats for dinner.

ELI'S GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!

Eli turned 7 on the 7th so it was his golden birthday this year! Gold balloons, gold wrapped presents...but that's about where the gold stopped, oh well. Eli woke up on his birthday and opened his presents - he got an xbox. Then later that day we took all the kids to Flipside to play for 3 hours and then grabbed Barros on the way home. Eli played xbox for a while and then it was off to eat at Lucille's BBQ with the family including Grandma and Grandpa Rodgers and Grandma Jensen. After dinner all the kids went and spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa! Eli did have a birthday party at Flipside a week before his birthday with Bo, Jake and Logan, but we completely forgot to take pictures, oops! Eli is such a good kid with an amazingly kind heart and spirit. He is sensitive when it comes to his feelings, but rough when it comes to sports. He is the 2nd smartest kid in his class and his teacher is in love with him (along with a little girl at school). We are so blessed to have him in our family!

ELI'S WEEK AT SCHOOL

Eli had a great week at school so I thought I would blog it so we can remember...

He was picked to be Star Student

Each day of the week he got to bring in a different something, a letter from a family member, his star poster all about himself, we put together a video of Eli's sports highlights to show his class for his talent, etc. One of the days it suggested that a parent eat lunch with him that day so I decided to take him out to lunch to the place of his choosing, "I want McDonalds and a vanilla milkshake and I want to eat it there!" His easy wish was my command...

Then they had to sum up the story they read in class, something about a bus and space pup...He was most pleased with himself and his drawings that he wanted me to make sure that daddy saw them...

"this is space p up and all the people"

"this is my bestest bus I ever drawed!"

"this is the people screaming, Help! And Space Pup saying, coming!"

This was Eli's spelling test for the week. He was so proud of himself on Friday when he got in the car, he had the biggest smile on his face! Way to go buddy!

TWINS FIRST TIME PLAYING BASEBALL!

Yes, baseball not t-ball. The coach wanted to start them off with coach pitch - we thought he was crazy. Turns out he might actually know what he is talking about! We stressed about the twins playing...

We were actually betting that Tyler might get nervous and want to get out there and bat in front of all the people. He completely surprised me...He got up there and batted during each inning. He connected with the ball 3 times, I don't even care that he fouled out and struck out...I was just so pleased he hit it! Then every time when he would strike out and have to walk back to the dug out - he never had a pouty face on, he came back with a smile. I couldn't have been more proud of him (I am not telling you how he would take breaks in left field and sit down and rest, ha ha).

Tyson was a great little team player. He was right field and saw zero action....BUT he was always in ready position and hustled to and from the dug out. He struck out the first two innings and then his last inning he actually hit the ball AND made it to first base! What the what?! Super proud. There was only one batter after him and he struck out so he never made it past first base, but I don't care. Very proud!

Eli got to play this one game on their team as well. They had two players gone so we dressed him up in someone else's uniform and he played catcher for the first time. He hated it. Never done it before and I am pretty sure he doesn't want to do it again either. He might have enjoyed it if he didn't have to wear all that gear at 2pm on a sunny afternoon when its 107 degrees outside. Bless his heart.

We didn't expect much from the twins at this game...after all, Eli used to go out into the outfield and put rocks in his pockets so anything more than that and we hit the jack pot! The boys loved it and can't wait for their next game! Go Dodgers!
