SUMMER FORT TIME!

This was definitely the summer of forts around our house. I am pretty sure one or several were made at least every other day (I don't want to hurt any feelings but I am pretty sure I am still the fort building champion)!

The forts either took over my kitchen table or took over the twins bedroom.

My favorite part about the fort was one day, I went in the twins room to check on the boys and the fort took over the whole room so I thought I would be cool and crawl into it to see them. As soon as the boys saw me, they asked me what I was doing in their room and I said, "I am here to snuggle with you guys!" Tyler was quick to respond with, "this is a fort mom, NOT a snuggle place!"

So I made my sad exit out of the room, but then pulled the mom card and made them pose for a picture!

TWINS TURN 5!

Where has the time gone?! How have my babies seriously turned 5 and are getting ready to start kindergarten...how do I rewind time?!

For the twins' birthday we were in San Diego at a beach house and we thought it would be fun to make a day all about them, and just them. They normally either get to go do things with all the kids, with Eli or they get left behind, but they have never gone with just us and not anyone else and since they are leaving me for school I wanted to make this a special day with just us and them.

We surprised them for one of their gifts to be a lego set and attached to the lego set was a ticket to go to Legoland! They were happy about it, but I don't think they really understood what was going to happen. The next day we got up and got the boys ready and said our goodbyes to Emma and Eli (who were spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa that day) and took them to Legoland for an entire day.

Here we are...5 years old and at Legoland!

The first thing we did when we got there was take them to the Sea Life Aquarium

I got bored in there and wanted to go ride some rides so I sped the process up as quickly as I could! Then we took off to ride the rides. The boys did so good there, we were so proud of them! They didn't complain one time about having to wait in lines, about having to walk the whole time (this is the first time they have gone to a park like this without a stroller), being hungry or anything - they were really grown up and we loved it!

45 minute wait for this lame roller coaster, but they thought it was awesome!

45 minute wait for this dumb bike thing and actually they said on their own that it was boring, ha ha!

They loved the firetruck and police car where we had to pump it to move and then put out a fire and race the other teams!

Lego Airplanes!
Popsicle break time!
This was the twins' favorite ride - and ours too! It was a super fast and scary roller coaster and they LOVED it - I think we rode it 4 times!

Potato sack slides!

Wave Rider

Lego Statues

It's not a very good picture, but I just loved sitting behind these two and watching the difference in their size and how cute they are...it's a blurry picture but probably one of my favs of the day!

We had such a great day with these kids! Spending the day for them was very special to us and very memorable! Our family would not be complete without them!
They crashed on the way home! They were very excited to get back to the beach house and see Emma and Eli!

 5 Year Stats:
Tyler: height 43 inches and change (50%)  and 44 pounds (75%)
Tyson: height 41 inches and change (25%) and 37 pounds (25%)

I told the boys there would be no shots this time because we did them all when they were 4. I was wrong - they needed a chicken pox booster. Tyler cried and cried in my arms before the lady even came in to give him one. Tyson was so brave and took it like a man, no tears, not even during the shot or after....Tyler, well I had to hold him in my arms and he screamed bloody murder before, after and during...as soon as the lady was done she got the heck out of there and I had to cover his mouth to get him to be quiet. Sweet Eli gave Tyler his nexxus to help him feel better...big baby!!

WCDE NATIONALS 2013! (LAS VEGAS)

Nationals was back to Las Vegas again this year - we were super excited about it because Las Vegas is more fun, cheaper and WCDE (West Coast Dance Explosion) is way better than the crap we did last year in Palm Springs.

We carpooled Monday on the way up there with the Oronas. Emma had a ton of fun hanging out with these fun girls and acting like she was a sister with them!
Tuesday was competition day! It was so nice to get it all done and over with in one day! Woo hoo! The girls did good, but not there best, their mojo was off for sure, but at least Emma looked great :)

Pre-performace pep talk
lovely lu lu lemon prop crew!
 awards!
Wednesday - Friday was convention days...

Emma's new convention outfit...
tired mommy, not quite ready for the day yet!
WCDE assistant (Amy Yakima) who is currently on SYTYCD
exhausted dancers who all insisted on sleeping together on the blow up matress
After they went to sleep with a responsible older dancer watching them, the moms might have gone out clubbing....maybe....perhaps....

getting ready....

The next night we took the girls to ride the New York New York roller coaster after we ate dinner at Sugar and then we took a limo back to the Mirage...the girls thought the whole night was the best!

Friday night was the closing show Gala. The first year Emma danced in the gala, but we didn't buy the $95 a person plate tickets and we just hung out and did our own thing and then went and danced. This year we since they made it to the gala again we decided to buy the tickets and eat and watch the show. Emma thought it was  so awesome how fancy everything was and she loved getting all dressed up. It was great to say we did it, but I don't think I would buy a ticket again...I'm good!
City Lights ended up with 5th place overall. We were proud of them and I am happy to never see that dance again :)

Shaelon and Emma - Sassy sisters
 Shaelon's gift to Emma
Saturday we woke up and got the heck out of Vegas - See ya next year! Me and Emma couldn't wait to get home to our boys who we missed!!
