JUST BECAUSE (PART 2)....

With the weather getting nicer, the boys wanted to eat lunch outside, so they did, they loved it!
Eli was in his first primary program on Sunday and was looking very handsome in his first suit. Emma sang in her first "duo" (duet) as she called it - even though it was only like 2 lines, she still thought she was hot stuff.

JUST BECAUSE....

when I looked back while driving in the car and I caught them holding hands...and they talk each other into being naughty in their cribs...and because I found the twins giggling together on the trampoline...they make me smile!

HALLOWEEN COOKIES!

I just realized that October break was almost over and we hadn't done Emma's traditional cookie decorating party with friends so we quickly just invited a few of my friends and their kids over and frosted cookies!

KikiChiaraPaytonTylerTysonLogan and EliasMaddy and EmmaAll the kiddos did great! Even the twins did a great job. Tyler was great at dumping sprinkles on cookies with no frosting and Tyson was great at eating the candies. Remind me not to do this again next year, I have eaten 5 already, oink, oink.

GRANDMA'S MAGIC TOUCH!

Yes, it is just a regular plate of lunch made with a roast beef sandwich, side of pickles, cherry tomatoes, chips, grapes and a diet cherry coke...but why does it taste so yummy?! Even though you might have the exact same ingredients in your own home...why is this one so much better?! Because it was made with Grandma's magic touch!Emma had a 3 1/2 hour dance practice on Saturday right by Grandma's house so while some of the girls went out to a fast food place for lunch, me and Emma went to grandma's house to surprise her with a visit and we ended up enjoying ourselves a tasty lunch, yummy desserts and a lovely chit chat with grandma!

4 YEARS OLD!

What a great day for our big 4 year old boy! It started out with Krispy Kreme donuts and then it was off to school for him. He was so excited to go! At the end of class Emma and I showed up with cupcakes for the class and we got to sing Happy Birthday to him and even got to sing the Goodbye song with him - Emma remembered it from when she went there 4 years ago! (After Eli was born we would go and take Emma to school and hang out there with Shelby and Eli would sleep on Ms. Nikkii's bed - man the kid has grown since then!!)After school we took the family over to Joe's Farm Grill for lunch. It was perfect weather and the boys all had a great time running around outside! When we came home Eli's friend Logan came over and they played together in the afternoon and then we took Eli out for his birthday dinner. We asked him, "Eli, where do you want to go eat dinner?" He responded with, "cars and animals!" Which means he wants cars and animals for his birthday! After explaining to him what we meant he said, "chick-ol-lay" so we headed out to Chick-fil-a for dinner. They had a face painter there so Eli wanted to get his face painted like all the other kids there and they were all getting pirate faces so he wanted to be a pirate too. After dinner we came home and had dessert and presents with the grandparents. Grandma Jensen got him his spiderman costume he wanted and a spiderman toy and Grandma and Grandpa Rodgers got him his "white robot" which is all we have heard about for weeks - phew! he got it!Because Grandma Rodgers' birthday is the next day, Grandpa brought over the traditional Coldstone birthday cake for everyone plus the ice cream cupcakes and giant ice cream Oreo cookies. We told Eli the cake said, "Happy Birthday Bubbas" even though it really said "Happy Birthday Barbara!"The next day, Eli had his very first friend birthday party. We had it at Bounce-U (Thank you Kristi for the fantastic idea!) and he got to invite 10 little friends. He had such a great time!

(from now on, maybe his friends can buy him 3 of everything so that when we come home the twins and Eli don't fight over everything! ha ha)Eli is such a sweet boy and brings us so much joy and happiness. I love how he wants everyone to be his best friend, how if the twins get upset he is the first one to run over there and try to make them feel better, he shares pretty dang good with them and how he is just so squishy and yummy! We love you buddy!!

MOTHER/DAUGHTER ACTIVITY!

Emma is so lucky to have some fantastic leaders for her activity days/achievement days/Merry Miss (depending on if you are old school or not). Last week they planned a Mother/Daughter "T" party. "T" for terrific, Temple, Testimony. Stephanie and I decided to be terrific moms and make a night out of it for our girls. We started out with dinner to El Rico's.
Then it was off to the church for our activity. Stephanie and I were originally asked to bare our testimonies - which made me kind of nervous but then we were told they actually wanted our daughters - which made me quite happy. Right before it was time for Emma to go, she looked at me and said she was really nervous. I said, "Em, you dance in front of hundreds of people, there are only a few people here." She said, "ya but that's dancing, this is talking." She did a great job though and even got a little teary eyed and cut herself off before the tears came!

They emailed all the parents and asked us to write a letter why our daughters are so terrific. (Emma, because I love you so much, I am going to admit on here that your letter glued to the back of the frame you made holding the Temple picture will get thrown in the garbage once you go back to school and forget about it. You know how I hate junk/clutter. You did a great job on it though, I promise. I will take a picture of it so you can always remember it and here is a copy of the letter we wrote you so you know that even though we threw it away, we really do love you!

Emma is terrific for so many reasons. Emma is a sensitive girl who genuinely cares for others. She is an amazing big sister that always looks out for her brothers. She puts her best effort in her school work and it pays off with the excellent grades she gets. We love her sweet spirit and how hard she tries to please the Lord and to make good choices. She is a great example to all those around her. We are happy to see her up on stage and get to see how much she has improved and how much she loves performing. She works very hard at dance and it shows when she is up there lighting up the stage. Our family would not be complete without Emma in our lives. We love her dearly and couldn't be more proud to be her parents!)We had punch and cupcakes there and then took our pretty selves out to Swirl It afterwards.I had such a great time with Emma. It seems like we spend a lot of alone time together but its really just in the car going to and from dance so this was such a fun evening. I love me some Emma time!

IN THE CLOSET...

I heard 3 little boys shouting, "mom! mom! come find us!" So I went on the hunt for my little guys and I found them hiding in the closet with the lights off and the flashlight on - they make me smile :)
