TYLER'S BROKEN ANKLE!

The basketball team had a "fun scrimmage" at Nathan's house. It was dads and coaches against the players. All was going great until Tyler went up to shoot a 3 point shot and Emmett went to block him but landed slanted and so when Tyler came down he came down right on top of Emmett's foot. He dropped to the ground and started holding it. In the video its pretty sad that the dads and coaches just stood there looking at him and finally Eli went over to him to check on him and helped him. I think everyone probably thought he had a rolled ankle. Jared got home with the boys and told me about it and mentioned that its not going purple like a rolled ankle that it was swelling instead. So as soon as I got home from being spoiled by my friends I asked Tyler if he wanted to go to the ER and usually that kid says "I dont care" to everything but when he responded with a "Yes" I knew it was bad. I took Tyler and we spent several hours in the ER. Finally they gave Tyler the bad news that he indeed did break his ankle and he would be out for the rest of the basketball season. That made Tyler cry. I told Tyler there was still hope. We left, I offered him anything he wanted for dinner, but again in true Tyler fashion he said he didn't care so we ended up with Cane's for him. Jenny Clouse hooked us up with a Tuesday morning appointment with Doug. He told Tyler he should hard cast him but if he really promised to not walk on it at all and only take the boot off for showering, he would boot him instead. Tyler promised. I tried to get Doug to give us some good news that Tyler could play again before the season ended and finally Doug could tell I was just trying to give Tyler hope so he said there was a "small, small, small, small chance!" I told him great! We will take it - it will be our Christmas miracle! We went to Dr Hunsaker's house and picked up his scooter and took Tyler to school and he has been scootering around ever since. That night at 10pm Tyce and his dad came over and brought Tyler some magical cream from Canada. They said if he rubbed it on multiple times a day it would help his leg heal faster. In a week we had a CT scan to see if he needed to have surgery. I didn't really believe the cream would work, but I am all about giving hope and Christmas miracles. We went for our follow up appointment and not only did he not need surgery, but Dr Clouse was shocked at how good it looked and told him he wants to see him back Friday, Jan 5th and at that time he might let him start walking on it AND there was an actual chance he could really be playing in a couple of games before the season ends! This canadian cream is a miracle!! (And Tyler has to temporarily switch spanish classes since his class is upstairs and there is no elevator so now he actually has every single class with Tyson!)

RANDOM DECEMBER HAPPENINGS!

While all the boys went to the cabin for Thanksgiving weekend and Jared and I stayed home because he couldn't go....I decided to decorate the house for Christmas. The boys begged me to let them decorate the tree this year since I didn't last year. I did 90% of the tree and then saved a few ornaments for them for when they came back. We did our traditional hot chocolate and donuts and I very kindly told them where to place each oranment. Then these turds wouldn't take just 1 normal picture with me! Our December was also filled with the twins freshman basketball games, Eli played in a couple of baseball games and he coached the Rebels baseball team, Richelle gifted me a picture of her and Rj together (how have I gone my whole life without this) and we went to the Varvels traditional Chili party and Jenny Clouses favorite things party!

THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving was different this year. It was the first time in 21 years that I haven't had Emma with me on Thanskgiving. We missed her, but we couldn't be sad about it because we knew she was up in Idaho with Hunter's family and we were so happy for her! Now I could be sad about my freaking poophead boys who wouldn't come run a Turkey Trot with me this year. We used to do them all together as a family, but our last one was in 2019. 2020 there were no Turkey Trots, 2021 we were up at Nathan's cabin so we couldn't do one, 2022 well we just didn't do one so finally this year I got back on the bandwagon and no one would come with me. After I got home from running it with Denise and her cousin, I told them that next year will be Eli's last Thanksgiving with us and the last one all the boys will be together for probably 4 years so we were absolutely going to run it together next year and I don't want any arguing!! Then I sat here and got ansy so I decided to go out and start mowing the lawn. Jared found me and made all the boys come out and help me. Then we rested for a bit and then headed to Nathan's house for the Jensen Thanksgiving. The boys had the best time playing basketball, volleyball, Left Right Center and hanging out with their cousins. We donated some dum dums to the turkey costume and later Theo wanted more but they were all gone, so when Eli went to Nate's the next day, he brought the rest of his and Theo was THRILLED! Everyone headed up to the cabin today except for Jared and I. He can't travel that far and doesn't like to be away from his space when he doesn't feel good so after they left we ran a few errands together and I am hoping to get our house all decorated for Christmas this weekend while they are gone - even though they are going to be very mad at me if I decorate the tree without them. They said, "every ornament you put up by yourself, you take down by yourself" "if you decorate it without us we won't get our tradition of hot chocolate and donuts" I promised them hot chocolate and donuts when they get back AND I would save them each an ornament to put on the tree when they return and I will mark the spot with a sticky note! Mean mom = pretty tree! Grateful for this family of mine! (once again, I didn't take a picture of all of us like I wanted, I never wanted to interrupt the boys while they were busy and then I forgot all about it!)

TWINS FIRST HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GAME!

Tyler and Tyson had their first high school basketball game tongith! Tyler was a ball stealing machine and he even scored 2 points! Tyson said his 3 point shot was straight cash money! We won 53-29! They have the best team of boys and the best coaching staff! We are loving it! We are excited to watch this whole season and watch our boys continue to grow in their favorite sport!

ASU VS OREGON!

Denise asked me to join her for the ASU VS Oregon game - obviously I am going to say yes to that game! I was really going for Oregon, but I did go sporting my ASU gear! Oregon demolished them 49-13 so either way I left happy, but I sure do love going to their football games - its a little escape from the busy life!

BASEBALL TOURNAMENT!

Eli had 2 tournaments in a row. Last weekend they ended up in 2nd place, this weekend they took 1st place! The boys loved their rings - it's funny how even in high school they get excited about the cheap tournament rings! Eli pitched really well this weekend and had some great hits! Jared was able to come to more games this weekend than the weekend before so that was nice - Eli really does love it when his parents go watch him and that makes my heart happy! We love us some Eli baseball games!

RAELYNN'S 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Robyn and Richelle worked for 9 months on Raelynn's 40th Birthday Party!! They literally transformed Robyn's house into the movie Cinderella! It was amazing!! They really did outdo themselves! Raelynn had the best time at her party - she didn't have much to say, but she sure did love opening her presents!! Gail came into town for the party and it was fun to hangout with her for a bit too!
