BLACK FRIDAY!

I was planning on being out the door at 6am but instead I left at 6:45am with no shower, make-up, etc. My first purchase of the day was a breakfast burrito and one of my last purchases was chocolate from Sees candy (of course, this was all for myself; oink, oink) and then somewhere in the middle was presents for the kiddos and Jared.

Did anyone else go shopping?

A NEW/DIFFERENT ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY!

OK so it's not a new baby but we have lost our sweet girl named Emma. In following the footsteps of Amy Jones aka Balloon Face, Emma has also decided that she would like a new name. Please refer to her as Nickel-lissa. She has let me know though if you need to address her by her full name it is "Emma Ann Jensen Nickel-lissa because that just makes more sense," she says. Here is a dorky picture to go with her new dorky name :)

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO!

Emma wanted to sign up for Ryan Elementary School's "Running Club". So we signed her up and every Monday her dad goes and runs with her. Yesterday the running club participated in Gilbert Days. So her and I signed up to run the 1 mile together. She did so good. She ran the mile the whole time and didn't stop (I made her run through the pain since it totally bugged me when girls in cross country would run/walk the whole race). She finished the race just under 15 minutes but at least she still beat a bunch of slower peeps :) When we could see the finish line I told her to run super fast and pass all these people along the way and she took off like a bat out of heck (where was that speed the rest of the race?!) Way to go Emma!

PROUD TO BE A MORMON!

So this morning I thought I would clean my house but before I did I thought I would stall by checking my email. I read an email at 9:11am about a girl in my stake who has been missing since yesterday and anyone who could meet at the park at 9:30am to help with flyers would be great. So I grabbed Elias and we both hurried and changed out of our pajamas, grabbed some drinks and snacks and headed out the door. When we got there we were all splitting up into groups of 6 and covering a square mile and going door to door in pairs of 2's and hanging flyers up on cars, street signs, etc and doing whatever we could to get the word out. We were then told to meet back at the park at noon for another meeting and take it from there. At noon my group met back at the park to get more flyers and lunch. After eating for 15 minutes we headed back out again and continued passing out flyers to businesses around the area until 1:50pm when we recieved a phone call that she had been found by girls passing out flyers and she was ok (long story, she ran away and got herself lost). As to why I am happy to be a member of the church, well, we all got the email this morning and if you read the email the minute you got it you had 31 minutes to get ready, drop everything and head to the park. When I showed up there was over 100 adults there ready to help. At lunch time, Bashas had donated chips, sodas, waters, fruit, donuts, baked beans, pulled pork and BBQ beef sandwiches. Some members of the stake had set up tents so we could eat in the shade and the Riggs family had been out there cooking all this food for everyone and there was now over 200 people searching for her. It was truly amazing to see how everyone had come together and on our own (because the police couldnt help for 24 hrs) we were able to cover 27 square miles, got people to donate their airplanes and helicopters to help search the area, got the media involved, etc. I love that as members we love to give service and it pays off.
As a side note, my partner today lived in Utah and helped with the Elizabeth Smart search and I was asking if she knew how she was doing today and here is another thing that brought tears to my eyes. After she was found and was back with her parents she met with the First Presidency of the Church and they gave her a blessing that she would forget the things that had happened to her and that she would go on to live a normal life and she is doing just that today. I am so grateful for the church and the many blessings it brings into our lives.

THE HANNAH MONTANA CONCERT!

After waiting 2 months for the concert it finally came! I have to say it was a pretty good show. As soon as it started I couldn't hear anything over the high pitch screaming of all the girls - eek that was a horrible sound but cute at the same time. They had lots of fireworks throughout the show, lots of screens to show different things, pretty interesting entrances from each act, etc.

Me and Emma at the concert Emma: "I hope she sings Girls Nite Out because this is our girls night out."

Jonas Brothers Emma: "I'm not in love with the Jonas Brothers Mom, I just like them."

Hannah Montana's Tour Bus

Hannah Montana Emma: "Are you sure we're going to see the real Hannah Montana from Hollywood?" I tell her yes and she proceeds to shout "Yes!" and jump up and down.

Gourmet Concert Nachos Emma: "When is it going to be a break so we can get some ice cream?"

Miley Cyrus

Emma dancin' like she is a rock star! Emma:
"This is the best night of my life!"

A SHOUT OUT TO ME!

Since I am the only one who blogs in my family, I am going to pat myself on the back but before I forget, Mom thank you for spending 5 hours at my house watching Elias so I can be the best mom ever. Last time we took Emma to Disneyland I waited with her (while Jared was on rides) in line for an hour and a half to get a princess signature and I thought I rocked then...well, now I really do rock. (Do I still rock if I use the word "rock"?!)
Tonight, not counting the 40 minute drive there and back, I stood in line with Emma and her friend for 3 hours for a 30 second picture and autograph of Mitchel Musso, aka Oliver from the show Hannah Montana. It was worth it in the end to see her just stare at the picture and having to push her along to keep her moving to the car and being so ecstatic that she actually met someone from "Hollywood".
Before she went to bed it went like this...
Mom: "Good night Mitchel Musso's girlfriend."
Emma: "I am not his girlfriend but I cant stop staring at his picture!"

TRICK-OR-TREAT!

Here is a small glimpse into the Jensen Family Halloween 2007 (you can click on the pics to get a better view)....

Princess Aurora and a member of the Jr. Wild Hogs

Super Mario Brothers - Mario and Luigi

Emma's version of the trick-or-treat song..."trick-or-treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat, I don't care, I'll get candy from your underwear!"

Bubbas wasn't so "bad to the bone" when he was getting candy at a house and the witch at his eye level started cackling at him

When you walk behind pretty girls trick-or-treating you might get a little treat :)

"Gimme back my dum-dum"

Nate, Jenn and Brylee came by during Family Home Evening to get some computer help so we decided to all carve pumpkins

All in all it was a great Halloween, but my favorite part was watching Elias trick-or-treat at our neighbors house and he held his bag out and they put 1 handful of candy into and he didn't leave, so they put another handful in it and he still didn't leave so I took his bag and tried to get him to follow me, finally they gave him candy in each hand and then he turned around and left quickly with a dum-dum in his mouth. My second favorite part...when the kiddos went to bed and Jared and I picked out the good candy and ate it :)
