THE DREAM FINALLY BECAME A REALITY!

The BUS!!! Woo Hoo!! Every time we see one on the road all Emma can talk about is how she cant wait to ride the bus. The day finally comes for Emma to do so, and we pull out of our garage and look over towards the bus stop and see it coming all I can say as I throw the blazer into drive is "oh heck no we aren't missing the bus the first day of school!". We haul butt over there and then the bus disappears. As we are waiting at the stop Emma sees her friend Janette (kindergarten) and her older brother, Joshua (2nd grade) and so we talk to them and then Joshua realizes he doesn't have his water bottle so his mom leaves their 20 month old with us so she can run with Joshua home to grab the water and while she is gone the bus arrives.
Emma and Janette grab hands and with the biggest smiles on their face excitedly cross the street and make their way to the bus. When they get to the steps at the bottom of the bus they pause for a moment as if "are we really suppose to go up here?". They decide to go ahead and head up the steps and the bus continues to sit there for a minute or two and finally the bus driver gets on the microphone and says "take a seat anywhere girls, just sit down". Finally the bus takes off and around the corner comes Joshua. From across the street we can here him crying because he missed the bus so we give his mom the 20 month old and hurry Joshua into our blazer and try to follow the bus so he can get on at the next stop. We missed the next stop but at the 3rd stop there was a good 20-25 people waiting (kids and parents) and they are upset because the bus drove right on past them and didnt stop to pick them up. Long story short, we leave Joshua there with his friends and we head to the school to spy on Emma and make sure she gets to class ok

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

6:45am yesterday Emma is awake and ready to start her first day of school! Miss Emma requested pancakes with maycole (maple) syrup on the bottom and whipped cream on top. After breakfast we moved on to getting dressed - an extremely important part of the first day of school (this outfit will be in the scrapbook forever and permanently engraved in our minds) so it needs to be a good one. She picked out this outfit at H&M and its cute but definitely not our favorite but it took all I had to suck it up and let her wear her outfit of choice (mad props to me). We then brushed our teeth, put on perfume :), went potty, grabbed our pink cheetah print backpack and matching lunch box and out the door went the 4 of us to take her to the bus stop.

MY FIRST SPARKLER!

Emma had been waiting for several months to go do fireworks in California with the Fa'anunus/Willyerds and the time had finally come. When she got her first sparkler she was running around the backyard with the HUGEST smile you have ever seen and was just happy as can be - so happy that when her skirt fell down around her knees and exposed her panties to everyone she didnt even care because she had her sparkler!

HEY SCHLUNK-O-PUNK!

OK pardon the girlie pajamas that Elias is wearing but we were in the bay area and didn't pack for cold nights - oops :)

Elias devoured his first plum! He ate it until all that was left was the seed/pit/core (whatever it is called) and we had to finger swipe that out of his mouth. After that was out he took a piece of the skin that was left in his mouth and threw it firmly on the ground and gave us the look of "give me another one now please"!

MAKING MAGICAL JAM

Emma always thought that Aunt Jeanne was so magical because she makes the best sour plum jam in the world! So last week when we were at her house Emma, Abby, Sidney and Aunt Jeanne made jam! Emma couldn't wait to get home and give her dad her big surprise - a fresh bottle of homemade jam!

FLIGHT #1254

Ok enough crap from everyone already :) It has been an extremely busy 3 weeks with a family reunion, wedding and vacationing in California so I am a little behind but I will slowly catch up but since I dont have a picture for this post I thought it would be a good one to start with.
On our flight back from California it was just me and the 2 kids. Since I have been flying with Elias since he was 3 weeks old I have the system down pretty dang good and I know that he needs to be sucking on a pacifier or a bottle during take off and landing. So being the excellent mother that I am I made my 9 month old stay awake during nap time so that he would sleep on the flight home. I prepared his bottle and was all ready to go just waiting for the pilots to take off into the air so I could shove (gently) his bottle into his mouth and enjoy the flight with a sleeping baby in my arms.
The plane takes off and starts to ascend into the air and my sweet boy drops his bottle and of course we are sitting in the second row and my reflexes werent "cat-like" this day so I didnt get the bottle in time and all I can do now is turn my head and watch it roll alllllllll the way to the very back of the plane.
Just like watching a crowd at a football game do the wave - I watched every person sitting in the aisle seat turn their head and watch the bottle roll on by. Do they even attempt to try and catch the bottle - nope! They just turn back and look at me and laugh. At this moment I am trying to decide if I should let the joke be on them and not doing anything about it and let them suffer with a crying baby for an hour and a half or should I be a good mommy and make the flight attendant unbuckle herself and walk to the back of the plane and look for the bottle. Well, we got the bottle back and Elias did great on the flight BUT to the lovely passengers of Flight #1254 - "THANKS FOR NOTHIN' YA HOMOS!"
