FIRST CHEER COMPETITION!

It's a whole different world than I am used to. It seems like it would be the same, but not quite. Emma has never cheered before and the teams second flyer quit 2nd semester so Emma had to fill in for her spot. She picked it up so quickly. The tricks she has learned have been amazing. We are so proud of her hard work and determination and of course - how fearless she is! My eyes really welled up with pride when they completed the routine and since she did it yesterday, I have probably watched it a couple dozen times! Here is my facebook post:

This girl is an energizer bunny...yesterday she had to be at Perry HS by 6:50am to get on the bus to head to her first cheer competition. It was the first time freshman have competed for Perry and they took first place! As soon as awards ended we raced over to her dance competition. They did awesome! I love seeing her do her thing on stage. We got home just after midnight and she was up at 7am to go back and dance some more. WE are new to the cheer world and she sent a selfie to Tatum "why is my pony tail higher than my hopes and dreams?!" #cheervirgins #danceregulars #imexhausted #shewillcrashtonight

RUNNING CLUB!

Eli and Tyson were the only ones who did running club again this year. They started out in the middle, but by their last race and left it all out on the course and hauled some serious buns! Not enough to earn a ribbon, but I am sure if they had done top 10 instead of top 5 they would have made it. Great job boys! love your dedication to running!

VALENTINES DAY!

I thought this would be my first Valentine's day with my whole family in many years - dang dance always has a competition/convention weekend that interrupts it. Well, Emma decided to help plan a mutual activity of hay riding and cooking decorating and delivering and since it's our trailer - I got to go - so once again - it was me and Emma - ha ha. At least this time, I got to see the scavenger hunt that I planned, got to eat dinner with the boys, but still didn't get to watch the traditional Charlie Brown Be My Valentine movie with them. We had heart shaped pizzas, sodas with red vines for straws, heart shaped donuts and then they all got their gifts at the end of the scavenger hunt. For some reason Eli didn't think we were having a scavenger hunt this year and he was really upset. It was cute he loves tradition....or loves gifts....hmmmmm! Jared and I squeezed in a quick date night the Saturday before Valentine's day. We hiked Camelback Mountain and it was a beast. Then we grabbed dinner at Tokyo Joe's and then ended up renting a movie and taking it home and watching it with the kids! Love my family to the moon and back! (Eli and his class after jump rope for the heart at school and the twins and their twin monster Valentines card box - they won for best box! Woo hoo!)

SWAT!

The twins asked me what SWAT stood for so not knowing we texted their uncle and he informed us it stands for Special Weapons and Tactics. The boys were sad to hear they were wrong. They thought it stood for Secret War Agency Team! Ha ha!

THEY MAKE MY HEART MELT!

These two make my heart melt...sometimes...this is one of them. They will watch TV together at night - no one else is in the room, but they will go and sit together like this and just chill.
