Just because these two are all mine, clean, in footsie jammies - what else are you supposed to do besides snuggle and take ridiculous picutres?!

THANKSGIVING!
We had a great Thanksgiving day today. It was the first year we were all alone with no one to share a meal with. It was the Rodgers year for Thanksgiving and grandma and grandpa flew the coop and headed to Caryn and Cade's house; all the Jensens went to their in-laws since it wasn't the Jensen year; and some friends invited us over but we decided to give it a whirl this year just us. I made my very first turkey - no thanks to Stephanie making me do it. It was kind of fun and yummy - I even made homemade cranberry sauce - what what!! We started out the day with the annual Turkey Trot but decided to let the kids run it with us this year, but then I backed out so someone would be at the finish line as each kid ran and Jared ran with the twins. Eli ran ahead of them and Emma and Maddie walked together - they did the 1 mile and the boys all did the 2 mile - I was very proud of all of them. After the race we went back home and started making dinner. I was smart and ordered rolls from Kneaders ahead of time so the rolls were done, we had mashed potatoes, corn, turkey, cranberries, stuffing, gravy and fresh frozen mint lemonade - we only made what we all wanted to eat. We set up a fun table out back and really enjoyed the time together. Afterwards, Jared took a nap while the rest of us watched tv and then it was back outside for dessert - smores pie, banana cream pie (made by emma) and apple turnovers with vanilla ice cream! It was a great day and we have a lot to be thankful. Love my family!

dessert time!
Just so we are clear - that was NOT their time - they stood under there to be funny!
Eli wanted to beat the turkey - maybe next year!
these girls did NOT want their picture taken - notice they are turning around and walking backwards to avoid it!

BOOTCAMP!
Jared has decided since September to start joining me for bootcamp - well - the first couple of weeks he was a baby and couldn't go by himself - now he is a big boy and we don't go together at all - which is a good thing because 5:30am is to hard for me to go to. We are the fastest mile runners out of all her people and on Veterans day we went and did a special bootcamp at the Chandler Fire Training Facility and Jared and I had the fastest times there too!
This might have been Norm yelling at me and telling me his grandma can do faster burpees - it's ok though, it was my second time doing the course!
Ya, ya, ya - Jared's weights are heavier than mine - whatevs!
One week Julie had a Throw-back Thursday workout and Darla and Jessica asked us to come dressed in 80's clothes! Jared said one guy was relieved to know that Jared was dressed up and that it wasn't his real clothes!

ASU VS WASHINGTON STATE GAME!
42 days later and Eli finally got to cash in on his birthday present! He had been ripping off a paper link every day until yesterday! He was so excited. He got a new shirt, new hat and was ready to go. I even got to hold his hand while we walked from the parking lot to the stadium - awh melt my heart! As we were walking up to the stadium - hadn't even stepped foot inside yet - he was already asking if we could take him to another game this year! I love him and his love for sports. As soon as we sat down he decided he needed some chicken fingers and french fries! Then he needed some kettle corn and a soda - we drew the line at the soda, but did grab one after the game on the way to his baseball game. ASU was not doing good the first half and he was STRESSED! We got him to chant along with the crowds and wave his little pitch fork fingers in the air, cheer, boo, the whole nine yards! He LOVED it and nothing pleased us more! It was my favorite ASU game that I have ever been too - going with my son and husband - out beat going with boys I liked in high school - even though I had better seats then - ha!

CHANDLER EAST STAKE RODEO!
The annual stake rodeo is always a good time! This year it was held at the boys ranch that Carson works for so his kids kinda run the joint which our boys loved because they just followed them around and hung out up in the announcer tower and made themselves at home. We ate BBQ and then watched the rodeo and all the different games. Emma and Maddy were to cool to hang out with us but they were there too! The boys tried to catch a chicken for a prize but the slippery suckers got a way. Tyson participated in the water balloon toss with this cute girl - Carson set the two of them up - Tyson looks quite pleased with his partner who followed him around for a little bit afterwards :) Tyler was to shy to play the water balloon toss - but after wards when the balloons were a free for all he sure thought he was funny pretending to get me with it!
