ROC RACE

Stephanie and I talked (although it was an easy sell) Blake and Jared into doing the ROC race with our bootcamp group. It was a 5k obstacle course with the world's largest inflatable slide, foam, bounce house balls, etc to run through, around, over, under, etc. We had the best time....and finished first from our group! HA! Next time we would like to do a longer, harder one!

HALLOWEEN 2013!

Halloween was great again this year. We stuck with all the usual traditions...drilling holes in pumpkins, ward trunk or treat, soups for dinner at the Parrys, trick or treating with the Parrys, coordinating costumes with them and Grandma Rodgers and I got to help in the classrooms with the boys school parties! It was another successful Halloween!

The Devil, A little mix of everything, Yoda and Captain America

I seriously have cute kids!

Zoned out playing video games

We told these two crazies to pose for a picture and they both did this - I told them they would regret it when they were older so I am posting it - and then they decided they better do a cute one too!

Two Wonder Womans with matching trick or treat bags

Captain America, Superman, Mrs Captain America, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman and Mrs Spiderman

After trick or treating, I took these girls to a haunted house in the neighborhood and at the end of it, you can have a beer or a full size candy bar - I bet you can guess which one we picked :)

INSIDE THE GILBERT TEMPLE!

So Jared and I were lucky enough to get to do a random side job today. We got to go inside the Gilbert Temple to clean up some of the construction dust, banisters, glass stair case railings, etc.
We got to see the locker rooms, chapel, baptismal font, celestial room, sealing rooms, etc - we saw it all!
If you didn't know, its the largest temple built in the last 17 years. Its 5 stories tall. By the baptismal font, there is a glass wall and behind that are several rows of pews for people to sit on to watch that ordinance happen. All the stained glass windows use the colors blue, green and yellow. There is a really cool water fountain thing out front. No door handles on the outside of the temple because it will be automatic.
They were in a big scramble to get the place cleaned up as best they could because some big wig from Utah came down today to walk through it - I asked if it was the Prophet and it wasn't so I didn't try to stick around to meet the person.
While I was sweeping this one area, there were 2 cute grandpas working away and I was thinking to myself what nice grandpas they were and then I heard the one grandpa say to the other grandpa, "so how long were you in prison for?" I think that's the first time I have ever heard that in the temple, it made me giggle.
Jared and I had someone try to take a picture of us together in one spot in the temple but after it blacking out after 3 attempts we thought perhaps someone up above doesn't want us to have that picture - so we took these instead.
