THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!
We had a busy weekend but when I look back at it - it doesn't seem as busy as it felt at the time. Wednesday night we packed up the car with clothes, scooters, a bike, etc because we were going to drop all the kids off at my parents house and Jared and I were going to run in the Turkey Trot. 3am I get a text from my sister letting me know my other sister was at the hospital and that she would probably have her baby in the morning. Thanksgiving morning I called my mom and being the very selfless (ha ha) sister that I am - I cancelled the turkey trot so that my parents could go to the hospital and see their new grandson when he makes his grand arrival. At 7:22am Baby Conner (as my kids call him) came into the world. Kinda funny - my mom and sister both had their first boys on Thanksgiving morning.
Since the Turkey Trot was cancelled we decided to make orange pancakes in honor of Thanksgiving and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
We had a funny mix of people for Thanksgiving dinner. All quite enjoyable people, had a great time - just kinda funny. My brother's grandmother-in-law - but no brother, my sister's in-laws but no sister :) The kids did so good at dinner - everyone was happy and very well behaved - especially as seeing how we ate during their nap time.
The boys sat on opposite ends of each other so throughout the meal, you would hear random shouts of "Hi Bubba," "Hi Tyson," "Hi Tyler"!
We opened the last bottle we had of Martinelli's and toasted it to Conner, since Caryn was saving that bottle for his birth.
Our Thanksgiving place holders this year was the candy turkeys again but I think next year we are going to make these cornucopias my visiting teacher made for us.
After dessert, Jared took all the boys home for a Thanksgiving nap and Emma and I stayed at my parents house so we could go to the hospital with them and see Baby Conner! Emma was thrilled to finally meet him. She has been very excited about his arrival since they day we found out about him.
That night since Jared and I missed the Turkey Trot, my family stayed at our house so Jared and I could go run 6 miles together and do our own Turkey Trot. I LOVED it!! I haven't run with Jared since we ran a few laps at a high school together before we were engaged. I loved just running with him and chit chatting about life. It was a great little turkey trot date - probably my favorite part of Thanksgiving weekend.
Friday morning aka Black Friday was very uneventful. Anything I wanted to get wasn't in the adds and because I didn't have a shopping buddy with me - I decided to sleep in and get up at 6am - rather depressing. I got up - hit up a few stores, got what a wanted, headed to Designer Blvd - will never go there again on black Friday, shopped some more, picked up a pizza for the family at home, walked in the door at 1:45, scarfed down the pizza and headed to Fountain Hills for Thanksgiving with Jared's family. It was freezing cold but the kids all had a great time!

On the way home we swung by my parents house so all the boys could meet Baby Conner. On the way over there, Eli told us how tiny and cute he was - which was weird since he had never seen him before, ha ha! All the boys loved him, especially Tyson.
Saturday morning I got up and did some more shopping, came home and we decorated for Christmas, took naps and then for the first time ever our whole family (all 6 of us that is) went to the movies together. We went and watched Tangled. We had a lot of fun and are loving that the twins are finally old enough to start doing more things with!
Sunday we went back to my family's house for dinner and to say goodbye to Ashley until Christmas time. It was a great Thanksgiving weekend and how grateful we are for our family and friends.

TURKEY TUESDAY!
SAS got invited again to go down to Bashas today and cheer on the people donating the turkeys. She was on the camera 3 times for a total of 5 seconds - she thinks that is awesome :)
It was pretty funny because most people there were getting pictures of the "famous" people there - Emma was really excited to see Firepal Dave - a local Chandler Firefighter who comes to her school and teaches them about fire safety. So when she was cheering people on I had to go over and introduce myself and tell him how funny she was and he got really excited and couldn't wait to meet her and put her up on his firetruck and take a picture with her and steal her pom poms.
Then a little bit later Beanie Wells showed up to be interviewed.
As soon as I saw him I called Jared and told him to grab the twins, grab their football jerseys and come down - we had to take a picture with him. Jared was such a great trooper and hauled his buns down there. Beanie Wells was very nice and smiled all night long and quietly stood there and signed pieces of paper, took pictures, etc but didn't really talk to anyone. Then we were waiting for our moment and the producers were trying to get him to go do another interview but then Ms. Allison (one of the producers and one of Emma's dance teachers) pointed us out to him and then he really wanted to come and say Hi! He came right over and started trying to tickle the boys and get them to smile, told us he had a 14 month old and he chit chatted with Jared for a couple of minutes and then we got our picture and he was outta there. See, we are practically BFFs with him now :)

A SNEAKY BOY AND A DANCER!
4:26PM and my phone rings....
Carol: Hello?
Nikkii: Hey Carol, it's Nikkii! Does Eli have underwear on?
C: Uh, I think so, he should
N: Because there is underwear at my house and I think it's his...
C: Eli, Do have underwear on? (as I am walking over there to check for myself) Ya, Nikkii, he has underwear on...
N: (she is laughing) I think he might have had an accident at my house. He finally got his shoes on all by himself at school and then said he had to go potty, so I told him to go and then he came out without his shoes on and now it makes sense. After his class had left I went in there and the bathmat was on the ground and I don't leave it down there. I picked it up and there was a wet spot on the ground.
C: Oh I am so sorry, he must have peed his pants. Can I come and clean it up? Buy you a new rug?
N: No, no it's fine...I just thought it was funny. So I cleaned it all up and he was the only one I could think of that went to the bathroom in his class today. So this afternoon I went back in there and it smelled kinda funny and I wasn't sure why because I had cleaned it all up, so I started looking around and found his underwear hiding behind the door!
C: Eli, did you pee on the ground at Ms Nikkii's house and leave your underwear there? (he gave me the sad puppy dog eyes and nodded while putting his fingers to his mouth!)
Sneaky little buddy, thought he would get in trouble and hid the pee with the mat and hid his underwear behind the door and then when he got home he put on a new clean pair! I guess Eli will be bringing her a treat on Tuesday.
(I tried to re-create the face but this was the best I could get and he is still smiling because he thinks this picture taking business is funny.)
Little Miss Emma had her first Dance Competition/Recital last weekend! She rocked it and SAS rocked it! Thursday night they did a dress rehearsal at the Higley Performing Arts Center. This was a great chance for Emma's fans to come out and watch her without having to sit through a 3 hour recital and they only saw the competition dances which are the really good ones and they didn't have to sit through the rest of the stuff.
Jen Rodgers was ever so kind and came and watched the twins while the rest of us went and watched Em. We decided Eli was old enough to come out and support his sister....now that it is over I can say, perhaps he is not old enough. About a quarter of the way through he says, "I don't want to see anymore girls! I want to go home and play with Jen!" He had had enough dancing. Thank you Grandma Jensen for buying Emma flowers again - she always loves when you do that!
The next night was her first dance competition of the season. She was pumped and couldn't wait! She had 4 different dances to compete in this year. She did amazing!! Grandma Rodgers, Caryn and Cade came out and watched the boys from 5pm until 11:30pm when we got back - it was a long night but for sure worth it. In the end, Emma came home with 7 ribbons...She got a couple ribbons for a couple of dances but her best awards were:
"Never Fully Dressed" from Annie - her group got 2nd place overall
"Money" from Cabaret - her group got 1st place overall
"Grease" - SAS' production number they took home the judges choice award - best award for the entire competition.
"Money" and "Grease" got cash awards - we were pumped - we had already talked about how we would put it into her savings account, then sadly we learned the money went to the studio...it was a great high while it lasted though! We uploaded most of dances under the video section, "Em's Dance Competition '10".
(announcing "Money" as the winner)
(the girls accepting their awards)
As a side note, a really sad story...I am warning you now to get a box of tissues :) Jen told me while she was babysitting...after it had been a few minutes and Tyson realized Jared wasn't coming back he started crying and mumbling something...she couldn't make out what he was saying...but he kept crying and saying it, finally she realized what he was saying...."what did I do?" He was so upset about Jared leaving he thought he had done something! It broke her heart to hear that but at least Tyler was there and comforting his brother with a good pat on the back and a hug.

3rd HALF MARATHON!
It was my 3rd and last Half Marathon for a long time. I had the hardest time training for this one - to many body issues. I must be getting old. My goal this time was to finish at 2 hrs even or even better...1:59:59. I finished the race at 2:03:19...but secretly I like to tell myself that if I hadn't left the race and run into Bosa's donuts to use their restroom - only to discover the door was locked and they had to buzz you in so then I started running back outside without using the restroom when some kind grandpas sitting inside yelled at the workers to hurry and buzz me in because I was in the middle of a race - that I would have finished 3 minutes and 19 seconds sooner (probably not really but I like to pretend). (Thank you to Sara for helping me find a restroom and for snapping this lovely shot and for cheering me on!)
Thanks to my friends for training and running this with me! Thanks to the girls for cheering me on as I crossed the finish line! (not sure why I was so ugly yesterday in all the pictures but whatev - I ran a half marathon - ha ha).

Last night we went out for a celebratory dinner at Brio.
It was a great day and I loved it but I am so glad to be getting back to just running 6 miles for fun! yay - no more getting up at 4am to run!

THE NEXT DAVID BECKHAM!
Ok so not really but we are sure dang proud of him! Eli has come along way in soccer this season. It is his first year and he is getting better and better. We have gone from chasing his own shadow, to playing spiderman and shooting webs out in the field to today....he scored a goal!! All the kids were in a little huddle trying to get the ball and Eli took it and ran it up half the field scoring! Of course Jared was gone with a twin in the bathroom (the only time he has ever left) and missed it but me and Grandpa Jensen jumped up and down and cheered as loud as we could! Even the other parents came over and high-fived him. (not the actual picture)
Then shortly after Jared got back and was bummed he missed it - Eli scored again!! It was awesome! I even got a little teary eyed. Eli's friend Kassidy scored her first goal today as well. What a great day! We ended the day by taking the family out to dinner and ice cream to celebrate Eli's big accomplishment! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

TRICK-OR-TREAT!
This is a crazy week but I did want to post some Halloween pictures so here is our Halloween weekend in a nutshell!
We went to a super fun Halloween party on Friday night and Jared and I were really able to enjoy ourselves because the twins are finally getting big enough that they can wander off on their own for a bit and always come back for more soda and treats later when they need it (I am pretty sure Tyson drank 2 cans of soda himself and after each swallow he would shake his head as if he was throwing back a can of beer - we were dying laughing).
Saturday night Emma danced at Freestone park for the Halloween Carnival they were having there and straight from that we headed to the ward trunk-or-treat. Emma did great and the boys had a blast! Every time Tyler would get a piece of candy he wanted to go back to the car and show his daddy!
The Black Spiderman - Eli
The twins were Cardinals football players
Emma in her "Annie" dance costume and her friend Maddy as the new "Alice In Wonderland"
Jaeden, Talan, Logan, Eli and Kiki (we pretty much didn't see Eli the whole night because he ran around with his friends Talan, Logan, Kiki and Bo).
Sunday night we went Trick-or-Treating in the neighborhood.
Whitney, Emma and Maddy

Trick-or-Treat
Tyler is our little scaredy cat. The boys all loved driving around, going to stores, any place that they had Halloween decorations but the ones that made loud noises made Tyler do this...
